So did any of you catch this last night? I just finished it, and I must say, I was IMPRESSED. The writing, the set-up of both He-Man's and Skeletor's origins, the animation....and they crammed every one of my favorite characters in there. Very, very nice. Made me want to go buy the toys, which, uh, I guess is the point.

Can't wait to see where this is going--this is a re-make done RIGHT.

Oh dammmmm. I meant to catch this, but I actually had no idea when it would be on, LOL! According to my local listings, it's re-airing tonight and tomorrow. I'll catch it if I remember. Weird that there's no entry for it at IMDb.

This was one of my fave shows as a kid. I never got into MASK or GI Joe or Voltron or Transformers. For me it was He-Man, Thundercats and The Bionic Six. And Jem. She was truly outrageous.

    Hey Quinn...

What channel is it on? I would like to see it, but didn't know they were making a new version!

Nice to hear of a re-make with actual care put into it.

I'm not surprised....it often takes them a while to put something up.

due to the fact that the idiots building the house 2 doors down cut our power while i was at work last night, i have not seen it yet. (nor have i gotten to tape it...*grr*) but it's on again in about 10 minutes, so WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!

(that's 7pm eastern for those keeping track...however, i'm in Indiana, the land of no Daylight Savings Time so it's on at 6pm here)

okay, so i saw the new He-Man (and taped it, too). i must admit...overall, i am IMPRESSED! they spun their swords a little much for me, but by and large, it was excellent.

Yeah, parts of it were a little too....Japanese Martial Artsy, but on the whole, I was impressed and I wanna see more!

    "I HAVE THE POWER!!!!"

Cringer didn't talk...that's okay. No one needs another Snarf.

    i thought Cringer was pre-Snarf?

besides, i never had a problem with Cringer talking...ORKO on the other hand...

all in all i was quite impressed. and i found some of the voices VERY interesting...i'm pretty sure that's Gary Chalk (Optimus Primal, Optimus Prime in Armada) as Man-at-Arms, and the one and only Cam Clarke (Leonardo in TMNT, Tetsuo in the original US version of Akira) as He-Man and Prince Adam. it was nice to hear him dial back the "kid voice" for a change. i know i've heard some of the others, but i'll have to go back to the tape and pull names...

Anyone know if it is on in Canada yet? On teletoon or YTV perhaps? I (finally) saw the new toys at a Toys R Us today - they are very cool but I don't understand the sabre-toothed Battle Cat. What's the deal with that?

    For the Curious
    Voice Cast
    Cam Clarke... Prince Adam, He-Man
    Kathleen Baar... Evil-Lynn
    Lisa Ann Beley... Teela
    Garry Chalk... Man-at-Arms, Whiplash
    Brian Dobson... Keldor/Skeletor
Paul Dobson... Trap Jaw, Tri-Klops, Man-E-Faces
Micheal Donovan... King Whatshisname (Prince Adam's Father)
    Gabe Khouth... Orko, Mekanek
Scott McNeil... Stratos, Merman, Ram Man, Clawful, Beastman
Nicole Oliver... Queen Whatsherface (Prince Adam's Mother), Sorceress

I only saw bits and pieces of it, but have talked about it at great length with other people on another board. I love Scott McNeil. I only heard one of Merman's lines, and I instantly IDed Scott, he sounded very similar to Waspinator from Beast Wars.

The one thing I didnt much care for was the 'must conceal secret identity' concept. That gets old. And Skeletor's voice... he sounded like an obsessive pimply faced Dungeons and Dragons player who got too much power. But in a bad way. ^_^

That's how Skeletor always sounded! "Nyaaaaa"

I didn't get to see the ending. Did we get an end-of-the-show moral like in the original series? I loved how every episode of He-Man and GI Joe had to have a lesson to teach us impressionable tots right from wrong.
