Do they ever get rid of a muppet if it isn't used frequently, or is forgotten?

I've heard they destroy them, recycle them, or put them in an archive somewhere.

I hope they archive them, there's a certain muppet I'd like to turn into a character when I apply for a puppeteering job for Sesame Street.

If a Muppet is created, but doesn't do well (and if it isn't a whatnot or AM) it is usually scrapped. Also, if you do get a job at Henson, I don't think they'll let you control which characters will be relived
