Puppet arm question

Thanks, Buck-Beaver. Actually, most of the past and present soft puppet makers who do business mostly with ventriloquists (Verna Finley, Mary Ann Taylor, JET) do just that. I think it's a good solution, and many vents like it.

Try a clear filament that goes around the back of the neck and attaches to each hand keeping it short enough to create a natural bend in the arms. They will move a bit without hanging straight down and flopping around. If you want to raise one hand, pull down on the other while directing the audiences attention to the raising hand so they don't notice your other one moving down.
