This sounded kinda funky....found it at Puppeteers of America:

PuppetLOVE! 2004 is seeking submissions of puppetry for performances, workshops, a gallery exhibition and video event. We will select high quality contemporary work that has a political or social message and/or that redefines, expands, exposes or fuses the boundaries of puppetry as an art form. The work can be in-your-face, explicit, challenging, absurd, fantastical, silly or sophisticated. All styles and sizes of puppets welcome. Artists receive an honorarium and admission to all festival events. We will find housing in people's homes for artists traveling from other places.

We are a small festival and are committed to giving everyone a small piece of the pie, but in general cannot guarantee much as far as fees go......last year honoraria/travel $ ranged from $25 to 250 depending on a multitude of variables. Please note that in most cases we will not be able to cover airfare or other travel expenses beyond the honoraria already stated.

Some people have questioned our use of "radical" to describe our festival. Indeed radical is an over-used and somewhat ambiguous word. People's associations with the word give them to expect that all the work presented will be political or shocking or....? Our definition has always been more boraod than that. However, as an explorative measure, we are asking for other subtitles to replace "Festival of Radical Puppetry." The sense of it must be that this is puppetry that is different, explorative, adult, sophisticated, contemporary etc.etc. Let us know of your ideas if you have them.

We are seeking 2-3 more people to work with us to produce the festival. We have short meetings every 2-3 weeks January-April (3 months) and each person takes on a task or two. It is a great opportunity to gain production skills and work with a great group of people. This festival is a joy to produce, low stress and no drama! There is no guarantee of pay, though we do give small stipends if we can. There is a thank you dinner for the production staff. Let us know if you are interested.

Thanks
