So I notice there's now a new term floating around the internet: "bae".

So, what is "bae" and what does it mean? It honestly looks like a typo of another word like "babe" or "bale" or "bate" or "bare".

"Bae" isn't a new thing at all. It's been around for about 3 or 4 years now I think.

Anyway, it's apparently an affectionate term people use to refer to their significant other. For example: "Love you, bae", "He's/She's my bae", etc. And yes, I think it is a shortened version of "babe".

Bud, I think you've been living under a rock for a while.... That's been around for quite some time.

In seriousness though, it's such an annoying term used by uneducated 21st century teenage boys and girls.

Oh-kay . . . now I'm even more confused . . . so, when someone says, "So-and-so is so bae," they're saying that person is poop?

No, those uneducated idiots think "bae" means their boyfriend or girlfriend (like a shorter term for "babe") when they have no idea it's actually the Danish word for "poop."

There was a farmer had a dog and Bingo was his name-o.
    B-i-ngo
    B-i-ngo
    B-i-ngo
    And Bingo was his name-o.
You probably sang this song at least ONCE in your youth.

    But, they never said...
Is Bingo the name of the dog? Or the farmer?
We established the farmer had a dog, but which one is Bingo?
    Ambiguity strikes again...

speaking of internet terms, I'm still scratching my head wondering what the heck does bye Felicia means, it really sounds stupid, people always end an internet argument with it.

    I'm . . . pretty sure it's the name of the dog.

What about "Humpty Dumpty"? Nothing in the nursery rhyme states that he's an egg even though he's frequently depicted as one.

Yeah, it wasn't originally an egg. Apparently, they changed it to an egg so kids wouldn't be as sad/disturbed.

I think about that sometimes. It's the source of my many existential crisis.
