Life is what happens when you're making other plans.

I think it's what I had before I spent all my time on this site. :)

    The "thing" with the "stuff"?

Why exactly is Kirstie Alley still on DWTS? Why?
  6. charlietheowl Well-Known Member

A better question would be why is Kirstie Alley still famous?
  7. D'Snowth Well-Known Member

Good question... I think that stems from the fact that she keeps losing weight, then puts it all back on, then does another reality series about her struggling to lose weight.

Oh yeah, and she's a Scientologist... they seem to always be in the spotlight.

That's a fairly tenuous way to keep a career going, but I guess some people love that sort of thing, like the Access Hollywood crowd. Funny thing is, she was a good actress at point; she was great in Cheers. Now she just seems tired and like a self-parody.

I adore a lot of her '80s work and it's sad to me that's she now reduced to reality nonsense.

I'm in charge of playing music during lunchtime in the next few days. But the problem is, I don't really know what people in my age group "usually" listen to.
    A little help?
  11. heralde Well-Known Member

All else fails you can always try the Beatles (that's a plug for you ;))!

That's one of the songs my group hates...
    (Or are you joking?)
  13. heralde Well-Known Member

Then they are quite beyond my help...

How about some Rush? Or AC/DC? Or Kiss? Or Weezer? Or... another band I love yet my peers hate...

That's a tough one, Vincent. I'd say some 80's rock from some of the bands I mentioned would be good. You might even get some kids to learn to like REAL music. (I refuse to think all this new rap hip hop techno crap is music)

I'll try asking them. Thank you!

How did Whitney come back for a second season? I thought people hated it?

    Two questions:

    1. What is Whitney? (I live under a slab of concrete)
    2. Do I even want to know?

It's a new(er) sitcoms that's basically supposed to be like a female version of Seinfeld.
  20. charlietheowl Well-Known Member

People are comparing Whitney to Seinfeld! I guess they never watched an episode of Seinfeld before then.
