Harold Ramis passed away at the age of 69. He held his own co-starring with Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd in the "Ghostbusters" films, and co-wrote "Animal House", "Caddyshack", and "National Lampoon's Vacation".

Thanks, Harold, for all the laughs you gave me (way back when movie tickets were only four bucks).

I think, if I'm not mistaken, he also co-wrote ROVER DANGERFIELD with that guy who gets no respect.

He also directed Groundhog Day and Stripes. Dunno what this will mean for Dan Aykroyd's efforts in attempting to get GB3 made.
*Leaves box of tissues for our fellow mod and staffer Fozzie Bear, who is a huge GB fan, this news must be deeply saddening for him.

At least Dr. Spengler can finally reside inside the GCU studying all he can about psychokinnetic ectoplasmic entities of all classes first-hand.

That's what's most depressing about this. He was denied that final performance as one of his most famous roles because GB 3 was never going to get made. Then again, at least it wasn't made with him passing on halfway through filming. At least he got to perform the character one last time for the video game.

Harold Ramis was a comedic genius. Without him, comedy in my generation would not even exist. I mean, Caddyshack, Animal House, Stripes, National Lampoons Vacation, Ghostbusters, etc. He also directed a couple episodes of the Office in season 3. RIP Harold Ramis. You are truly with the comedy gods now.

Actually, I have to take what I said back a little... it looks like they're still assessing making a GB3, now without Murray or Ramis. They insist that his involvement was minimal anyway. I still don't think the project will go anywhere, and I'm very mixed on it if it does.

Harold was the best! I'm gonna miss him being in the business. His movies are the funniest for sure. Love Groundhog Day so much
