Here is an outline for a fictitious 1971 Sesame Street Live show, similar to the ones form 1980 and beyond.

Act 1

Sesame Street Theme
Four Anything Mupet kids (voices of Jim Henson, Frank Oz, Jerry Nelson, and Fran Brill) sing the theme song, until finally, they arrive at Sesame Street.

One of These Things
The kids meet Big Bird, who wants to play a game with them. They play "One of These Things", involving a banana peel, an ice cube, a bar of soap, and a shoe. The thing that doesn't belong is obviously the shoe, since you can't slip if you put your foot on it.

Count to 20
After that, Herbert Birdsfoot wants to teach the kids to count to 20. Grover arrives, and Herbert makes Grover join in, even though Grover is in a hurry to get an ice cream cone. They all countt o 20, and then Grover goes to the ice cream vendor (voice of Caroll Spinney), who has just closed his ice cream stand.

Ernie and Bert
A live performance of the sketch where Ernie tells Bert about his day at the zoo.

Rubber Duckie
Bert leaves the area, and Ernie brings out his Rubber Duckie, and sings the song.

What Do I Do When I'm Alone?
Grover sings his song. Eventually, he is happy because the audience is there, and then Big Bird, Bert, Ernie, Prairie Dawn, and Roosevelt Franklin show up.

Simon Says
Roosevelt Franklin leads the cast in a game of "Simon Says". Roosevelt has them clap their hands, cover one eye, and jump. Then he tells them to wave their hands, without saying "Simon says", and Grover and Ernie are out. Then Roosevelt tells them to sing, again without saying "simon says", and Big Bird starts to sing "Somebody Come and Play". Roosevelt then gets the remaining players to clap their hands (Bert: "again!"), and then touch their toes, and then, without saying "Simon says", tells them to touch their noses. Bert does and is out.

Somebody Come and Play
After the others leave, Big Bird sings "Somebody Come and Play". He is eventually joined by Cookie Monster, Grover, and Herry, who all want to play a game of tag.

Intermission

Act 2

Welcome Back
Ernie and Bert welcome the audience back, but Ernie wants to make sure that everyone is back. Ernie sees Big Bird, Cookie Monster, Grover, Herry, Roosevelt Franklin, Prairie Dawn, and Herbert Birdsfoot, and is convinced that everybody is back. But is then concerned about those who haven't been on the show yet. But Bert tells Ernie that they have to go on with the show.

The Alphabet Song
The ones who are there sing The Alphabet Song.

Shapes
Herbert Birdsfoot talks about shapes, with assistance from Grover. Herbert shows a circle, a square, a triangle, and a rectangle, and asks Grover to bring in items that look like these. Grover brings in a tire (which belonged to a car mechanic, voiced by Jim Henson), a box (which belonged to Prairie Dawn), a toy pyrimid (which belonged to Herry), and an envelope (which the mailman, voiced by Caroll Spinney, takes back).

The H Game
Guy Smiley hosts a game show where each contestant must name something that begins with the letter H. Bert says "hand", Herry says "Herry", and Big Bird says "hill". They each get a prize: hallpasses.

The People in Your Neighborhood
Roosevelt Franklin sings about the people in his neighborhood, including a salesman (Lefty), a zoo keeper (voiced by Jerry Nelson), a musician (voiced by Fran Brill), and a doctor (voiced by Caroll Spinney).

Stop Sign
A live version of the sketch where Lefty attempts to sell Ernie a stop sign.

Sing
Big Bird, Bert, Sherlock Hemlock, Roosevelt Franklin, and Guy Smiley sing "Sing", with the cast singing the "La, la, la, la, la" part.

Book
Grover reads a book, and wants to know why there aren't any pictures or words in the book. Sherlock Hemlock tries to help Grover solve this mystery, and comes to the conclusion that it's a book of blank paper, which Grover is meant to draw and write on.

Guess the Letter
Guy Smiley presents letters of the alphabet, for Cookie Monster to guess which letter they are.

Goodbye
The cast waves to the audience.

I went through the trouble of mentioning performers for the newer characers, but failed to mention their Anything Muppet types. Well, here they are:

*The kids: hot pink (Fran Brill voice), Reddish-Magenta (Frank Oz voice), Green (Jim Henson voice), and lavendar (Jerry Nelson voice).
*Ice Cream Vendor: Fat Blue.
*Mailman: Large Lavendar Live-Hand.
*The People in Your Neighborhood: Pumpkin (zoo keeper), green (musician), and Fat Blue (doctor).
