Today I was in a local video store that has a lot of older movies. Well I found Muppets From Space for $3.99 and since I don't have it Idecided to buy it. Well I go to the register and the guy at the counter say "Muppets From Space, will that be all?" And then some idiot a few feet away starts laughing at me. I mean, how rude can you be?

Four bucks? That's awesome! And that was a quite uncalled for reaction from a total stranger!! Enjoy the video!

Just ignore it. This has never happened to me; and I wouldn't care if it did. I've purchased muppet stuff before on its own, and who cares what people think of me?

Let me say this...you aren't alone. I know all too well what you went through. I can't count the times that's happened to me :frown: over the years. Unfortunately, there are people out there who will always think of Jim Henson as only a preschool entertainer and nothing more. I say :boo: to them!:grouchy:

Maybe reading my review of "Muppets From Space" will cheer you up. Check it out in the Reviews section (I wrote it on 9-9-99...how cool is that?)

I say, just be your Muppety self, and know that you'll always have friends here on the Forum!

Don't worry about it. There are some silly people around, maybe he wasnt laughing at you or maybe he was embarassed because he likes to play with little miss make up dolls or something.

I always feel a bit nervous when looking and buying muppet stuff or DVDs in the kids section but then I think, we are all allowed to like what we like and I think the muppets is the best thing to be a fan and collector of. I am a muppet fan and im proud of it!

When I bought my swedish chef playset I got a few looks and there was even a boy who knew my brother at school watching because he kept laughing and telling everyone that I liked the muppets.
When are people going to realise, the muppets arent just for kids, I think they are made for adults maybe even more than children in the muppet show and various movies etc.
And the Palisades figures are certainly not kids toys, they are toys for big boys, and girls too! lol. They certainly arent what you would give little kids to play with and destroy, although I have heard of someone doing this.

The muppets were and are created and performed by extremely talented adults. We are all fans of these talented people and there creations, whats wrong with that? Nothing!

If the muppet products were only intended for kids, I think they would find some things quite confusing as some jokes were made for adult minds. Also I doubt many kids would know every character from the muppets as they werent around when it was on TV and so popular.

I think some people get the muppets and sesame street mixed up. Sesame street was intended for younger audiences whilst being entertaining to adults and there is nothing wrong with liking this either, its incredible talent. I love some of the sesame street stuff although im more of a fan of the muppets!

Nobody ever bugs me. I actually get interesting comments. One thing's certain, the Muppets always evoke a reaction and that's a good thing.

Go into an online, real-time chat room and type in the following sentence if you want reaction:

"Smurfs. They were small. They were blue. They lived in mushroom houses. Discuss."

No matter what the conversation is, they'll change it!

Dude, don't worry if someone laughs at you about Muppets; their life is dull and boring because they have to pay attention to what the guy in front of them is buying!
