I noticed that on some threads there is a thumbtack on some threads that when you put the mouse to it it says "Sticky"
What is that supposed to mean exactly?

Sticky threads stay at the top of the page no matter how long ago they were posted in

That means that the thread will stay on top of the page as opposed to scrolling down when new messages are posted to other threads.

But when I click on the thread it brings me to the most recent post, try "New Sesame Street Movie in the Works"

But it's not at the top of the list, that's what I don't get, it's like fourth or fifth on the list, so is "New Members: Please Post...." thread

When a sticky is put up, it stays on the top when you click the Friends and Family section, but on the forum list the most recent post, non-sticky or not appears. Sesame movie thread has the most recent response altogether. If the new members thread did, it would appear on top. The stickies are just so that the threads do not fall down, so that users can find them with ease.
