Let's hope these writers keep him that way......
::shrugs:: Bunsen and Beaker have a comedy duo bromance. That's enough for me. Now, there are maybe one or two characters that I could potentially see swinging that way, hehe, but frankly I don't trust this show to do it maturely when they can barely get the frog and pig right!
Okay now Bunsen and beaker I ship like fedex! Lol they be cute!!
Hey, does anyone know when Denise will be back? I get that she's not a well-liked character by fans (especially since she's the one obstacle in the way of one of the most famous pairings of all time), and I'm not a huge fan of her either, but I hope she's back soon, because they shouldn't just waste a character.
I hope she comes back really soon. I like her a lot and would like some more development on her part.
They've been pretty much hinting at this for years. It's 2015. We've had gay characters on television since the 70's. Bunsen's always been portrayed as a little dainty. Plus, Beaker's original puppeteer was a gay man. I don't see why this is an issue or why it should be.
I'd bet that half the audience that abandoned the show because the characters don't match up with their fundie beliefs. It's like the characters have to be good Christian teetotalers throwing pies at each other for it to gain an audience.
"Hi Sam". That's close? 40 years and "Hi Sam" is the only interaction we've had between the two.
It's like the writers were just throwing darts at pictures of the Muppets and they're like "alright, let's make a new couple". It was gonna be either or Yolanda, and they're just like "Oh, let's find her complete opposite. Plus, let's act like + totally wasn't a thing, because it wasn't. Tune in next week, when we force Yolanda & to be a couple."
I don't see why Richard being gay has anything to do with it. Beaker wasn't big on personality anyway.
What were the hints? Them just being together? How about friends or acquaintances?
I hate the whole & thing, not because I'm homophobic, but because they're like brothers or something. I think they mentioned on Muppet Babies that they lived together. It's kind of disturbing: is so helpless and I could just see abusing him or something. I agree though, could pass as gay or bi or something.
It's the same reason & aren't a confirmed couple; they're just best friends. Plus, they're just Muppets. All of their traits don't have to be human-like (too bad that's the theme of this show); please don't strip them of their innocence.
I was actually referring to Janice and Floyd, not Sam and Janice
Okay so it looks like floyd and Janice are totally still a thing! Watch these Her head is resting on his shoulder in the bus in the episode six promo and in the other video where they say happy birthday to Ed Robertson when Janice hears him say 'my favourite lady' meaning the barenaked ladies band she thought he meant her and yes these are on my YouTube channel sub me aha
This looks like the episode that a lot of Electric Mayhem fans have been wanting for a long time. Going on a road trip with the band would be fun, and I can't wait to see how this one plays out.
I also love how big of a role Janice is getting. It seems she is the most used band member right now, and I'm rully ok with that!
I definitely picked up on it all through The Muppet Show (not looking for it at all, but it was pretty unmissable), though it seemed more that Bunsen had an unrequited crush on Beaker, and Beaker was bewildered by it. But then he's bewildered by just about everything, so it's hard to tell.
More recently, "Flowers on the Wall" had the 'romantic dinner' scene... which suggests the relationship goes both ways. (Or perhaps is unrequited both ways, if that makes sense.)
Hints were dropped with the subtly of dropping a piano down a flight of stairs. Rewatch the "Flowers on the Wall" video, the Star Trek cruise episode of Muppets Tonight, and the end of LTS where Bunsen eagerly asks if he may cut in (with a dance with a hot female model), and Beaker is all to eager to oblige. I don't see why making any of the characters "heteronormal" has to be a thing with some fans. I get that they have that "brothers" thing going from (not in any way canon) Muppet Babies, and I get that we don't like to speculate characters as not being hetero-normative, but I do not see the harm in this when they've been basically cracking jokes about it for years.
That said, as far as this show goes, it was a small aside that was kinda amusing to some that has been taken way out of proportion.
MISS PIGGY HAD A SONG IN THE NEW EPISODE! REJOICE! THIS EPISODE WAS MY FAVOURITE PIGGY PLOT SO FAR!
There weren't any obvious sexual references or curse words were there? I want to watch this with my parents and five year old brother.
I don't think there was anything super bad but the scenes with Fozzie and his girlfriend were a little bit mean spirited. The song was totally clean though. I think you can for sure watch it with your parents, but maybe not your five year old brother (depends on if he'll get all of the jokes).
Hahaha! No problem!
I've encountered some like that, but I wouldn't say it's half or even most, and doesn't seem to represent the fans here who've had problems with the show. That's a bit too easy an explanation.
Don't worry about that.
This all goes back to the points I made in this post I wrote earlier today:
Separate names with a comma.
