A friend of mine gave me a really unique present for my Sweet 16. She got me a shirt from Forever 21, a music note necklace from Claire's, and an Angry Birds gift bag. :D She said I remind her of Rachel Berry from Glee. Even though I don't watch Glee, I am very well aware of her character and her actress.

See, I'd consider that an insult, but whatever.

    Happy belated sweet 16!

    1. finished my new painting last night. It's not quite what was in my head but it's as close as my meagre skills can get it, so...I am content. Will post in a few days to coincide with the birthday of its muse.

    2. found this on Sam's Twitter feed and it just made me smile:

Congrats on the painting! And no finer words have been written on a whiteboard and then posted on the internet!

Steve? Who's Steve? Is he adorable too?

I just found out that Pete Martell in Twin Peaks--the guy who first found Laura Palmer, and who is married to that wonderfully nasty Catherine--was played by Jack Nance, who I first saw as Henry, the title character in Eraserhead. I didn't recognize him without the Beaker hairdo.

That may very well be the funniest viral video I've ever seen.

The library had a Calvin and Hobbes book that my school library used to have that I used to check out all the time. I feel like I'm eleven again.

I love Calvin and Hobbes! Which book is it?
  17. D'Snowth Well-Known Member

    The first collection.
  18. charlietheowl Well-Known Member

The first book of theirs I got was Weirdos From Another Planet, where Calvin and Hobbes most notably go to Mars and make fun of the Viking spaceship. The first collection's pretty good, but it's funny to see how different the art looks at the beginning compared to the strip's later years.

I am smiling because I knew this decades ago. Which makes ONE cool thing I knew before Kim did. :news:

I have the first four collections. I would love to get the 50th anniversary book again. I have no idea what happened to it
