Note: I couldn't think of where to put this. I won't mind it being moved if somewhere else fits better. Feel free to add.

1. Follow your dreams.
2. Life is better the more people you share it with.
3. Authority figures aren't nearly as important as your own heart.
4. Don't take any organization seriously.
5. Slaying dragons isn't violence, but censors will never let you raise your sword to one.
6. And yet monsters can eat main characters all the time without anyone batting an eye, LOL.
7. Not all monsters are scary or mean.
8. You can get away with a lot just by having fantasy or metaphor deal with your topics of interest.
9. Civilization ruins us all.
10. Life's like a movie, write your own ending -- unless it's Fraggle Rock, in which case you'll gripe to the writers that you don't want one.

There's no emotion that can't be set to music, and even if a song won't solve all your problems, it can make you smile and inspire you.
Keep your imagination well-nurtured, and you can do wonderful things with it.
"Simple is good.", (My favorite quote.) Try not to overcomplicate things, either in projects you're doing or in life.
If the direct approach doesn't work, get creative. I,E Puppets only do about 10 percent of what you want them to do; the rest you've gotta fudge.
Always keep yourself opened to new ideas, beliefs, and ways of life. Never assume you know it all.

I'm sure there are others I could add, but I can't think of them right at the moment. Great idea Kelly! We do a lot of talking all throughout the forum about Jim Henson, but it's not often people have come up with a clear-cut list of principles like this.

1. Always follow your dreams
2. Never give up
3. Things are better when shared with family and friends
4. Start your day with a song or two
5. Simple is Good
6. Muppets and humans are not that different at all
7. Imagination is a powerful tool
8. Listen to your heart
9. Always know what's right and wrong for you
10. Life is good, so enjoy it!
11. Love and forgive everybody
12. Believe in yourself and others
13. Never take things too seriously in life
14. Take time to look at the world around you and unwind
15. Express yourself in whatever way possible...singing, dancing, making or performing with puppets or doing something that you love to do.

It's from Red Fraggle (well, that first part). I'm not just using Jim Henson quotes. I'm talking about things I've learned from stuff he did as well. I don't know too many quotes, LOL.

Most important... watch out for Convincin' John types. They'll convince ya to do ANYTHING!

You wouldn't thump something if you knew what it felt like.

Unless you're into that kind of thing, I guess, LOL.

It's always a good idea to hope that something better comes along.

There is no more dangerous logic than "There will always be more! That's what more means!"

I know that's technically after Jim, but it still was one of his companies projects, and I think he would have agreed.
