I know Muppet Wizard of Oz and Very Merry Muppet Xmas movie are available in widescreen in R2.
I'm considering buying them and trying to Rip them into R1. I have the R2 MFC/TCT DVD and tried to rip it to R1 DVD last year, but the PAL to NTSC conversion didn't work too well and whenever there was any type of motion on the screen there would be visible scan lines.
I also came across a few sites online that will charge around $20 to convert them, but with the Euro conversion rates it'll cost around $40 for each movie from amazon.co.uk PLUS $20 each to convert them.
Does anyone have a DVD rip for use in R1? or have the capabilities to?
Someone was nice enough to do that for the MFC/ TCT R2 and torrent the AVI file, but I forgot who.
