I could not stay asleep last night. Kept waking up for no reason. And when I could sleep I dreamt about not being able to sleep, tornado panics, etc. It's gonna be a lovely day today.

Thanks for telling me about that... I don't plan on using YouSendIt anymore... having to register a full account when you used to be able to just do it was bad enough, but to have to purchase a premium membership now to send files larger than 50MB is stupid.

Well, it seems like I have a very good chance at having a lifeguard job for the summer - but that's apparently not good enough for my mother. Apparently another, closer pool attempted to contact my home with no success getting in touch with me but my parents got their number and extension. I've tried calling every single day since last Wednesday with no luck getting an answer schedule an interview like they wanted. And my mom won't shut up about the place! She's obsessed! I can't stand her anymore! I want it to be August so I can get the heck away from this place!

I'm so sorry to hear that, Slackbot. *hugs* I pray that you, his family and his friends will be at peace, knowing that he is now free from his suffering on Earth. I wish I could do more for you guys, but for now, this will have to do. *HUGS*

On another note, Underwater Cowboy left to go back to Ontario for work. He'll be back, but not for a while. I'm gonna miss that big lug so much...

Thanks, Ozymandias. His last few years have been very rough on him--cancer treatments are brutal, and he was not a young man--and we knew this was going to happen eventually. Still, it's a harsh blow. The office was a very soggy place yesterday.

An essay I had to write to get in to the actual education program at my college was rejected. Ok, fine, whatever. Fix a few mistakes I didn't catch the first time around, resubmit it. Only...

We had to list three things that happened that made us want to be a teacher. The email I got says that the essay was too critical and too negative and that I HAVE TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE DEAN! In the essay I happened to write about a few negative things teachers have done in the past but I thought I put a positive spin on it... Anyway, As soon as I saw that I freaked out and burst into tears. I'm still crying. Why does the dean want to see me? Do they want to talk about the teachers I meantioned in question? Because I'm certainly not going to say who it was. I have been going through an extremely rough time and I admit my views on reality may be slightly warped. I mean, dealing with a love one who has cancer is going to make anyone a bit stressed and over sensitive. Should I say that? WHAT SHOULD I DO? Thats the only reason i can think of why they want to talk to me :cry::cry:

Maybe they're just concerned about you, Sgt Floyd. Calm down a bit...sounds like you have had a very rough year, and hey, no dean at any school I went to or worked at actually cared enough to call me in for a chat! So this may be a good thing, no? Just go to the interview, play it by ear, answer honestly and completely and be yourself. Tell them you very much want to teach, and you see those negative examples as just that...examples of what NOT to do, not representative of the whole profession. Dean's just probably concerned about why you want to get into the ed college. It's good that he/she takes a personal interest! Go see what they want. Dry your eyes. *hands over hankie* Whoops, sorry, that one was Link's; I agreed to do some laundry for Linkiepie... Here's a clean one! [ ]

Frowning here because the plumbing job at my house is indeed turning into the chaotic debacle I knew it would be. The whole system, which is for some stupid reason underground (I mean ALL of it) is being gutted and replaced. Day Three begins at 7 tomorrow. Wonderful. My dust allergies are not pleasant, and the sound of jackhammers all day was SO much fun to try and write through...

I think it has something to do with me calling a teacher a hypocrite :/

Hey, if they don't remain objective to something they don't like, then they aren't good teachers who are reading the papers. Really. As a teacher you will get countless papers that you do not agree with, but you have to remain unbiased...

They said on the news this evening that practically the entire southern U.S. is going to have a repeat of last year's above average summer where temps were in the 90s and the 100s... if this isn't proof that Mother Nature hates the south, I don't know what is, I do NOT wanna go through ANOTHER above average summer! I'm sick and tired of dying for months from the excessive heat! If we have to go through such a summer again, the LEAST we should have been able to do was have a repeat of last winter when we had unusual amounts of snow and ice, that was totally wicked!

*Is in a bad mood now*

I'll see your ungodly heatwave summer, and raise you one 100-degree Sunday scheduled for this weekend. No such thing as Spring out here.

Unhappiness is: having to get up early on all your days off before the plumbing crew arrives to jackhammer yet more concrete. Very little of the front foundation appears to be remaining out there...and there seems to be a tunnel to Singapore begun in what used to be my bathroom. Woo hoo.

My younger Brother got married this past weekend and while I'm super happy for him and my new Sister-In-Law, the whole event had a nasty way of reminding me how lonesome I am these days, not to mention wreaking havoc on my nerves. I guess I just wish I could find that special someone myself (I think repelling women is my super-power, I seem to be really, really great at it). Still super happy for them though.

DL, methinks it would help if you stopped wearing Tuna Fish Sandwich Underarm Oderant...

My house looks like something from Serbia. I had no idea you could dig a trench that deep and not have the foundation collapse... We get water back tomorrow morning. I'm planted at the library, where they have air conditioning and bathrooms...

I did a few months ago... Switched to "Just Starting To Rot Potatoes" The "Rotten Potatoes" was a bit too strong for my liking, so I went with the "Just Starting To Rot". Strangely, it hasn't helped at all. :sigh:

My dad yelled at me. :sigh: This could be why most women in their twenties don't live with their parents, but I don't have the funds to move out just yet.
  17. charlietheowl Well-Known Member

I'm sorry. Hope it wasn't too bad and that you're starting to feel better.

Thank you. We made up shortly after, so it's cool now.

Having trouble sleeping. Usually it's about problems on theme park rides, or my bosses or coworkers show up at the hotel for a meeting I'm supposed to have. I need to hurry over to Orlando so I can finally chill out. :)

Another day where I'm my mother's slave. Good lord, I can't wait for next year when I don't have to put up with this nonsense every single day.
