Yeah, this is exactly what's bringing me down. My mom was understanding yesterday now she's treating it like it's the worst possible thing I could have done and now she's forcing me to take lifeguard training again since it seems be a lifeguard or nothing. She realizes I took it mainly to get physical education credit for college but she wanted me to have the lifeguard certificate. The course basically makes you take a CPR written test that you need to pass before you can take the lifeguard written test. Oh, and there's a swim test that apparently doesn't matter at all without the written test. That I could do no problems but it seems since I can't take a dumb written test I'm the world's biggest failure. No one's saying that but I get that feel from myself.

Bob/John, buddy... Dunno what's going, but just take the time to reflect. Yeah, things may not be going all hunky-dory today... But that's okay, cause tomorrow's another day and you can work to try to get the stuff that's weighing you down taken care of, at least what can get taken care of, and what can't (well, why worry or grouse about it not being able to be taken care of?) Point is, there's another day to work clean with. Hope this helps make you feel better.

:super: And remember to breathe, both in and out!

Yeah, believe me, as someone whose family has the same "you can be a genius" whatever nonsense, I feel the "just leave me alone" thing. On the other hand, good sir, like I said, take a CPR course with someone else (I'll help, financially, if you want). That way, you'll already have the knowledge to do the lifeguard course. I don't want some little written test to destroy your life. Of course, if you wanna do something else, that's cool too. Jus' offerin'. :)

I know how you guys feel. Managed to get my Brother's wedding done without much incident (our Mother and myself were the main players/doers for the event). Since then it seems like everything I touch or do just goes completely and utterly wrong. Here's to hoping things turn around for all three of us and whomever else might be experiencing the same issues right now. :sigh:

Retake the test, Bob...just like Kelly said. Not the end of the world, and don't allow your overbearing parental unit to make you think it is! Just retake it AFTER a study class of some sort. You can do this! :)

I know far to well first hand of overbearing parents (I'm sure you have read some of my posts about parent problems). Surprisingly, even though I got one C this semester, they didn't seem too mad at me finally got me my birthday present which I didn't think I was getting. So I guess miracles can happen sometimes :/

I've calmed down by this point. The only problem is that I would, in fact, have to take the whole course over in order to take the test(s). Fun.

I see that at another forum I used to frequently visit deleted a 100+ page thread of an RPG I was a major force behind has been completely deleted, I'm about to rip my hair out! One of my greatest accomplishments, gone forever!

If there is an afterlife of eternal torment for puppet builders, I'm pretty certain it involves sewing hands.

Four professors who worked in the VPA program (visual and performing arts) at Ye Local College were just fired because the VPA program at Ye Local College has just been cut, or at least that's what I can gather from what's flying about on Facebook. I believe at least two of them were only given 15 minutes to gather their things and were escorted off of campus by security. I can grit my teeth and take the cut, as I think most people at Ye Local College saw that coming, but treating long-term staff like that is disgraceful. You don't fire loyal, hard-working staff, you give them a two week's notice to at least give them a clean record on their resume so that they can find a good job elsewhere. *shakes head sadly*

Normally I would not be this upset (as I was never enrolled in that program) BUT as someone who has seen a much-respected pastor at her church receive similar treatment just a few weeks ago (although at least he was given some notice), I can really sympathise with those friends I do have who are in the program and are experiencing the shock first-hand. :(

Bob, D'Snowth, hang in there. *hugs* I think this has been a roller-coaster ride of a week for a lot of us.

I wanted to get started on my Susan Phoenix vids. You know, just a little test run? Well, it's been over a year since the last time I used my video camera, and now I can't find the bloody cable that will let me hook it up to my laptop. Grrr ...

Anyway, &list=UUPWfE2DR1Ki_vn-5wqd2D3g&index=1&feature=plcp what I got so far, and that didn't require video.

Well at least what you did put up so far was a blast.

Are you a man or a Muppet? Well (unless there's some things you've not yet told me), i know you're not a man so you MUST be a Muppet!

Before forced to go over to storage, and dig out two measely cookbooks for my mother, on a hot day, under a metal roof, with the humidity increasing throughout the day... took pretty much three-and-a-half hours to move all these boxes and crap out, find just one of the cookbooks, then put all the boxes back.

And did I mention it was a hot and humid day today?

And I'm STILL sick of this non-stop overcast weather! Two weeks straight! Make up your mind Mother Nature! If it's going to shine, give us shine, if it's going to rain, give us rain, choose one or the other!

It's not nice to pester Mother Nature, lol.

Mother Nature pesters me every month around the same time. I say let him :scary:
  18. D'Snowth Well-Known Member

Listen, SHE pesters ME almost non-stop from April to October, so I say, what goes around comes around. Eye for an eye.
    Thank you Sarge.
