So far I have not heard an official release date for the first series of the Sesame Street action figures. Last time I heard December of 2005 but nothing came about. But does anyone here know?

It seems none yet received them though the normal shopping ways... Is there anyone who can say when Palisades relise them?

Are retailers backing out due to rumors that sales are expected to be low and there might not be a series 2?

The latest info I received a few days ago was that these would be arriving in stores and shipping mid-February. Don't wait around to buy these. It's imperative we all support the Sesame line and purchase these figures ASAP to ensure that future figures are released.

Agreed Phillip. Already placed my pre-order for 1 of each figure from S1, who'll hopefully come and join their buddy Super Grover on my home shelves. And I rully do hope S2 comes to fruition, cause I'd want to have Bert to go with Ernie, and of course my Muppet namesake there with everyone else as well.

I agree wholeheartedly. I had been waiting, but I read a post on another thread urging preorders, so I went ahead and did it. We need to let our wallets do the talking if we want to see more of these (and I most certainly do)!

Do you think there's a chance that Oscar will come back in stock on OMG Toys? 'Cause I wanna have a complete set but I don't wanna miss out on Oscar. I'll definitely have to pre-order at least Ernie, 'cause he's one of my favorite all-time Muppet characters :p

Got a reply from OMGCNFO Sales

    Hi everyone,

I emailed the Sales folks at OMGCNFO about Series One. I just told 'em politely that I had pre-ordered a set and when they might be shipping out. Here is what they told me:

"As you know Palisades has been bought out, so Sesame Street in kind of up in the air at the moment. We have heard on good authority that the figures have been made but nothing further than that.

As soon as we have information we will share it with all of you."

So...that's the scoop I got. For now I guess we're just quietly waiting.

It is sad that Palisades is coming to an end. They made such wonderful Muppet figures, and I doubt that we'll get ones of such quality again. We all post here because we love the Muppets and Jim Henson's work. Even though I'm sad that there will be no more figures by Palisades, I'm glad that we got a whole bunch of cool Muppet merchandise through them. 15, 20, or even 25 years ago, the thought of figures based off of, say, Marvin Suggs or the Newsman would have been laughable. Now, thanks to Palisades, these and many more of the Muppet family have been immortalized in three dimensions and enjoyed by us Muppet fans.

Thanks, Palisades! I'm sure Jim Henson would have been proud of you for making such awesome Muppet stuff!
