Earlier
today, Audiencesunlimited.com
announced plans for a new late-night Henson talk show called “Late
Night Buffet”. The show will star puppets and celebrity guests
and will be recorded in front of a live studio audience at Henson
Studios.
However,
Audiences Unlimited originally posted info about the series stating
that it would include Muppet characters and celebrity guests. Pictures
of Kermit the Frog were also posted on the Audiences Unlimited website.
A Henson
insider has confirmed that some of this information is incorrect.
This proposed pilot program will not feature Kermit and other familiar
Muppet characters owned by Disney, rather it will focus on new puppets
developed by The Jim Henson Company. A television network has not
been announced for the program.
Adult
fans in California have a very special opportunity to attend a live
taping of "Late Night Buffet" on July 22 in Hollywood.
You can register for your tickets on-line at AudiencesUnlimited.com.
Audiences Unlimited distributes free tickets for hundreds of network
shows in Los Angeles and across the country. More information on
this project should be announced later this week by The Jim Henson
Company.
As
of late, The Jim Henson Company has focused on more adult puppet
endeavors. A live performance of Jim Henson's
Puppet Improv was held in March at the U.S. Comedy Festival.
