Beginning later today, we are going to be beta testing some upgrades for Muppet Central Radio. Specifically, we’ll be experimenting with expanding our stream from 64 kbps to 96 kbps.

This will provide a significant quality boost; however, we want to ensure that the stream does not experience too many “drops” for our mobile and international users. The feedback we receive from you over the upcoming days will be very important.

I will post here once we are broadcasting at the higher settings so everyone can listen to the changes and provide your feedback. If you are a frequent listener to Muppet Central Radio, we definitely want to hear from you.

Hi Phil. Question: If I just go to the link I have for MC Radio at my Live365 account's presets, will that take me to the new 96KB streaming version of the station? Or do I need to update my presets via the link in your last post?

Yes, you'll hear the 96k stream via the presets and through any other means that you might listen.

Anybody besides me having trouble with Live365 as a whole? When I click on one of my preset stations, I get a message to install Adobe Flash Player, which I didn't need nor have to before. What's more, after choosing the "Don't Install" option, I then get a message saying that Windows couldn't initialize the embedded player.

Suggestions? :grouchy:

Ed,

It sounds like your cookies may have been deleted or Live365 has updated the embedded player controls for the player that you use.

Go to this page and set your player options here (you may have to login first). It sounds like you are either using “Player365-WMP or “MP3 Desktop Player” with your default MP3 player being Windows Media Player.

If you still get prompted for the Live365 Flash Player, I’d run it. It’s a safe download and any stream should begin immediately after the install. Let us know what happens.

For some reason the web player option was set to Player365-Flash v3.0 (beta) instead of Player365-WMP. Just set it back and saved it, that did the trick... Thanks for your help Phil.

After a week of testing at 96k, the feedback from you has been very positive. Therefore, Muppet Central Radio will continue to broadcast at 96k for the foreseeable future. Thanks to each of you who listen and for your continued support in the exciting days ahead.
