I'm a great big Muppet fan. I absolutely loved the last movie, and I wanted to love MMW. The trailers made me leery of the writing quality on this film, so I went in with no expectations hoping that I would be pleasantly surprised, but I wasn't. Opening with a number "We're Doing a Sequel", a...
Late in the game to add my 2¢, but I enjoyed this show in spite of how thrown together it seemed. Gaga and the Muppets might have been a better pairing with better writers (or if they spent more time/money on writing). The commercial nature benefitting individually the Muppets and Lady Gaga were...
I thought others might find this amusing. I rebuilt my FAO Muppet Whatnot using more professional methods and materials. See all the images at this link:

I made this a few years ago for myself and thought that perhaps others might like to have it.

Enjoy.

I wonder if the new bodies that TRU made for their kits, which are smaller are the now the same bodies used at FAO? Can anyone confirm that the recent FAO whatnot bodies are the same/different than the TRU kit's?
I purchased a Muppet Whatnot at the workshop in NYC just after they opened shop. Sure, there are seams and it's more of a toy than a professional puppet, but it felt worth the money. A friend had one made via the internet recently and the results were astoundingly terrible. The quality of the...
It might seem that way, but I am fairly certain all of the Muppet shirts are in guys sizes as well. You just have to select "guys" on the right side of the page on any design that doesn't come up on a guy model by default. I thought that at first, too with one design shown on a girl shirt/model.
Threadless had one of the Muppet design contests a couple of months ago, and now they are offering a collection of the top picks for sale. They are all pretty great, with a few outstanding. They always do an amazing job printing their super soft shirts, too.

Yay! a reply!
I was beginning to think no one here liked it. I had a lot of fun making it with my friends, so I'm glad you enjoyed it- and thanks for taking the time to say so!
:flirt:
In the fall of 2008 I came across the Muppet Whatnot Workshop at FAO Shwartz in New York, where I was ecstatic to build my own Muppet! Excited to do something with my new puppet, my friend Kevin envisioned the concept for this absurd storyline, fresh on the heels of another impromptu "music...
it's really too bad this is just for kids, but thought it was really well done. Simple, un-fussed with and with the Muppet Show logo! I think the lining in the hoody is perhaps overkill, but take a look! They had many of them in kid's sizes at the H&M, Michigan Ave. Chicago.

Awesome work!
I'm from Chicago and flew out to see the show on the 15th. I sat in the second row and when the curtain opened to reveal the playhouse set with all the puppets and characters, I couldn't stop grinning for the rest of the show! The puppets are so well produced you'd swear they...
how to dye fur?
Everything I've read about dying fur is that the acrylic fibers don't take dye, or very well at least. Do you have to use a different dye than you would use for fleece/foam? And perhaps it is a technique for making adjustments to a fur that is similar in hue to color you want...
