Well, if you don't have all your MC friends in a buddy list, I suppose it can help to see whose around. Helps if you know their handle though. You know, I never liked 1984 in school. What does that say?

I think the buddy list is a way to keep the people you chat with the most organized and to facilitate messaging,private or other, email, etc. I'm speculating.

I'm glad your avatar is safe. I spent a lot of time trying to think of one I hadn't seen. I think I succeeded. I think all the avatars are great. All creative, all individual (or should be). ;)

Wel, I'm new but this discussion certainly isn't. I am fascinated by this entire thing. As a kid, all I looked forward to was getting to watch the Muppet Show on my little black and white tv at our summer house in Rhode Island. There I'd be, tucked away, oblivious to anything and everything...
