"Oh boy, I hope I found the right place eh?" The furry beaver said to himself as he got to the back of the theater. He looked around, and went down the alley, past the garbage cans, and went up the concrete stairs. He straightened his red sweater, with the white maple leaf on it, and knocked on the door.
"Coming!" Said a excited voice from the inside. The door opened, and a blue fellow with a crooked nose appeared in front of the beaver.
"Hi there! Welcome to the Muppet theater. My name's Gonzo, my stage name is Gonzo the Great, and my barber's name is Tim, but you can call me Gonzo." He extended his hand for a handshake.
The beaver gulped. "I really REALLY hope this is the right place." He thought to himself as he stared at the blue guy in front of him.
"...uh....hello?" Gonzo asked, waving his hand in front of the beaver's face.
The beaver snapped out of it. "Oh! Uh, hi there! My name is Ripley the beaver, and I was wondering if you guys were holding auditions eh?"

Gonzo lead Ripley into the backstage area, and looked at a clipboard.
"Well let's see, what can you do?"
Ripley's tail began to thump excitedly.
"What can I do? What can't I do?! I can sing, I can dance, I can juggle, I can do impersonations, I can build dams, I can balance a computer on my head......and I can do this!" He began to knaw on a leg of Kermit's desk, and it fell over.
"Oooh! Cool! You're a living breathing handsaw! You have potential kid. I'll go talk to the head honcho, so you stay right here, OK?" Gonzo asked.
"You got it Gary!"
"It's Gonzo."
"Oh...Gonzo! Sorry eh?"
"Say, are you Canadian?"
"Born and raised, eh?"
"Cool, I hear that Canada has great french fries!"
"Uh....well....." But before Ripley could correct him, Gonzo ran off to find Kermit the Frog. So, he sat down and began to hum a little song. Just then, Annie Sue Pig came out of her dressing room, and walked down the stairs, and went over to the water fountain. Ripley noticed her, and decided to walk over to her and introduce herself, because he was a polite beaver.

"Hi there. I'm Ripley."
But, Annie Sue had her back turned the whole time, and hadn't seen his face at this point.
"Oh....hi there. My name is Annie Sue." With a bored tone of voice.
"Have you been in show business long, eh?"
"Well.....kind of." She replied.
"Oh. Well, I think I am going to be working here too."
"Really." She replied while looking at her nails.
"Yeah! This is going to be so cool!"
Annie Sue started to get fed up with Ripley and started to turn around.
"Well listen kid, I....." But when she saw his face, she was over come with emotion. "....I...I..uh.."
She had never seen anything like him. He had a cute furry face, and eyes that were kind of sleepy, but easy going. He had buck teeth, but straight white teeth. He was wearing a red sweater with a white mapleleaf on it, and was kind of short, but very cute in Annie Sue's eyes. She felt cupid's arrow, and she didn't fight it.
"Here he is Kermit, the Canadian hand saw!" Gonzo pointed Kermit towards Ripley.
"So, tell me, do you really want to be in show business?"
"Oh yes, very much sir! I watched you guys on television when hockey season was finished! I really want this!"
"Oh good, because your hired." He handed Ripley a contract for him to sign, and Ripley's hands were shaking.
"I...I don't know what to say Mr. Frog." Ripley said with a shakey voice.
"Well, I can tell you what to do. You can repair my workdesk." Kermit said, with a somewhat firm tone of voice.
"Oh absolutely! Right away Mr. Frog! Whatever you say, eh?"
Ripley immediately went to find the tools, and started to fix the desk, and Annie Sue kept her eyes on him the whole time. She didn't move a inch from where she was standing before.
"I think I am in love." She thought to herself with a sigh.

Chapter 2

Kermit was looking over Ripley's resume, and was pondering how Ripley could fit into the show. Fortunately, it was the week of rehearsal before the show was performed and aired before an audience, so Kermit decided to put Ripley into any segment he could find.
First off, Ripley was Gonzo's partner in one of his amazing daredevil stunts.
"...and finally, the tank of pirannas will soften our fall, and we will end up...right here." Gonzo explained about the extremely foolish stunt that had Ripley visibly nervous.
"Uh, Gonzo, are you sure that this is a good idea?" The worried beaver asked.
"Of course! I have done this a thousand times! Well, not exactly a thousand, but just as many! And everytime, there is less injury!"
Ripley tugged at the collar of his sweater.
"Uh Gonzo, I don't think this is for me. Maybe I'll try something else."
Gonzo smiled and put his arm around Ripley.
"That sounds fine. Not many people can be brave daredevils like myself."
Ripley smiled.
"It's all yours, Mr. Gonzo." He said. "And you can keep it." He thought to himself.

Later, he was a patient for Veterarians Hospital, for a case of a toothache.
"Doctor, I have a toothache." Ripley read off the script.
"Well then, you should get your chimney swept more often." Rowlf replied.
"No no, he said "toothache", not "soothache"!" Miss Piggy fired back.
"Oh! Well, I should get my hearing checked."
"Oh wow Dr. Bob, this isn't the time to play checkers!" Janice replied.
At this point, everyone was ablibbing.
"Nurse Janice, this isn't the time for fun and games, now hand me those tooth pullers."
"Tooth pullers?" Ripley asked.
"Yes, we must get to the "root" of the problem!"
"You mean I need a root canal?"
"No, I have weeds growing in my garden!"
Everyone laughed.
"Seriously Doc, my tooth hurts, eh?"
"Well this is serious!"
"Like, what do you mean Dr. Bob?" Janice asked while chewing gum.
"Nurse Janice, you can't chew gum in here!"
"Why not?" Piggy asked.
"You could get "gum" disease!"
Everyone laughed.
"Doc, that was terrible, eh?"
"You think that was terrible, wait till you get your bill!"
Everyone laughed, except Ripley.
"There goes my dental plan."
Everyone laughed.

Later, At the Dance, everyone was assigned dance partners, and Ripley had Annie Sue.
When everyone was dancing, Annie Sue smiled as she talked to Ripley.
"I'm sorry about my negitive attitude earlier. Could we start over?"
Ripley smiled and extended his hand.
"Hi, I'm Ripley."
She took it.
"Hi, I'm Annie Sue."
It was there turn to make a joke in front of the camera, so Ripley started the joke.
"Say, did you hear about the baker who became a commedian?"
"No I haven't! Is he funny?"
"He had them "rolling" in the aisles!"
There was a collection of groans from the other dancers.

Kermit decided to put Ripley into more sketches on the show later on.

Chapter 3

Kermit then tried the young beaver's skills backstage. Ripley was then put in charge as the gopher for Scooter. In other words, the beaver gopher for the gopher. Good grief.
"Scooter!" Kermit called.
"Yes boss?"
"Scooter, could you get me a cup of coffee?"
"You got it chief!" Scooter turned to Ripley.
"I need a cup of coffee for Kermit."
"You got it sir!" Ripley saluted and ran off. He returned in a blink of an eye.
"Here's your coffee sir!"
Scooter took it.
"Here's your coffee chief!"
"Thanks Scooter." Kermit took it, took a sip, and frowned.
"Yuck. Here Scooter, put two packets of sugar in this."
"You got it boss." Scooter handed it to Ripley.
"Here Rip, put two packets of sugar in this."
"You got it honcho!" Ripley saluted and left. He returned in a flash.
"Here you go my captain!"
"Here you go boss!"
"Uh....thanks Scooter." Kermit took a sip of the coffee, and spit it out.
"Augh! What is this? This isn't sugar!"
Scooter turned to Ripley.
"That isn't sugar!"
Ripley shrugged.
"I got it from the chef guy."
Scooter turned to Kermit.
"He got it from the Swedish Chef."
Kermit frowned at Scooter.
"I heard what he said.
Scooter turned to Ripley.
"He heard what you said."
"Should I do something else?"
Scooter turned to Kermit.
"Should he do something else?"
Kermit was beginning to lose his cool.
"Why don't you guys give the performers a coffee break."
Scooter turned to Ripley.
"Hey rookie, time for the coffee break."
Ripley scratched his head.
"Should I put sugar in the coffee, or cream?"
Scooter turned to Kermit.
"Should he put sugar or cream in the coffee."
"It doesn't matter....."
"It doesn't matter."
"Oh. Well, what if they want something different, like a donut or something."
Scooter turned to Kermit.
"What if they want variety?"
Kermit was getting steamed.
"Well, I....."
"And if that is the case, would they want both?"
"That's a good question."
"Thanks Scooter."
"You're welcome rookie."
"Kermit..."
"I DON"T CARE!!!! JUST DO SOMETHING!!! WILL YOU TWO GET OUT OF HERE??!?!?!?!"
Ripley and Scooter ran as quickly as they could to the stage.
"Wow. What's eating him, eh?"
"Don't know. Let's get a donut and a cup of coffee."
"Sounds good."

Chapter 4

"OK Ripley, let's see you sing a song." Kermit said from the audience.
That, Ripley could do.
"OK sir!"
He climbed down the orcestra pit and told Nigel what he wanted to sing.
"Good grief." Nigel moaned.
He climbed back on stage, and the band kicked in.

"I started on a journey, just about a year ago.
To a little town called Morrow in the state of Ohio.
I've never been much of a traveler, and I really didn't know,
that Morrow was the hardest place that I'd ever try to go.

So I went down to the station, for my ticket and implied,
for tips regarding Morrow, not expecting to be guyed.
Said "Aye, my friend, I'd like to go to Morrow and return,
no later than tomorrow for I haven't time to burn."

A Muppet that looked surprisingly familiar came on stage, sporting a beard and playing a guitar, to sing the second part.

"Said he to me...."
"Now let me see if I have heard you right.
You'd like to go to Morrow and return tomorrow night.
You should have gone to Morrow yesterday and back today,
for the train that leaves tomorrow is a mile upon its way.
If you had gone to Morrow yesterday now don'tcha see?
You could've gone tomorrow and return today at three.
For the train, today, tomorrow if the schedule is right,
today it gets to Morrow and returns tomorrow night!"
Ripley took it again.
"Said I, I'd like to go to Morrow, so can I go today?
To get to Morrow by tonight if there is no delay?"

"Well well, I said to him, and I ain't got more to say,
can you get anywhere tomorrow and get back again today?"

"Said I, I guess you know it all, so kindly let me say,
now can I get to Morrow if I leave this town today? Said he..."

"You cannot go to Morrow anymore today,
for the train that goes to Morrow is a mile upon its way."

"I was so disappointed. I was mad enough to swear.
The train had gone to Morrow, and it left me standing there.
The man was right in telling me...."

"You are a howling J!
You cannot go to Morrow..."

"So I guess in town I'll stay."

The band finished up, and the Muppets working on the sets clapped appreciately for Ripley. Even the man who joined him in the song shook his paw.
"Great voice kid."
"Thanks mister!"

Kermit was smiling considerably in the audience.
"Thanks for your assistance Jerry."
The Muppet man tipped his hat and exited stage left.
