Hey everyone,

I am new to the forum and puppet building and this is my first post.
I want to build some classic sesame street and muppet show replicas for myself and my son.
I was wondering if anyone can help me with getting the size of the characters accurate.
I don't mind trial and error, but some of the materials can get expensive. Does anyone have any tips or tricks. Any help would be apprecieted...

A great way to judge the size of the eventual puppet is to start with the mouthplate. A good size for an adult hand is 5 inches (that's 5 inches across the point of the mouthplate that bends in the back of the puppet's mouth). Then base the puppet's proportions on the mouthplate. Hope that helps!
