Hey, folks.

Here's our thread for appreciation, memories, and facts about Bear On Patrol. I'll also be using this thread as a bit of research for the characters, so if you have links (not Hogthrob, weblinks!) or lists or anything else on the subject, please list them.

I really enjoyed the sketches, very vaudevillean. The hapless Fozzie Bear as the Bear on Patrol, "fighting" crime (and causing them along the way).

Something I've not quite gathered yet is if Link's character is as Commander, Chief, Commissioner, Captain? Anybody know for sure?

That brings us to Muppets Tonight! Anybody have an episode list, lest a TITLE, of the sketch with Clifford and Bobo, their roles and character names for their own 'Bear On Patrol' thing there?

Any information on sketches, characters, bad guys, anything you can add in regards to Bear on Patrol? Your opinion of the skits, etc?

Here's some links I have collected so far:

Which one had Banana Nose Maldanado? He's the one they released after he convinced Fozzie and Link that he was an undercover cop. Of course, just after he leaves they notice his wanted poster on the bulletin board. That may have been in the James Coburn episode referred to in you links that is left blank.

I think Link is a Lieutenant, because he is asked in the above episode by Fozzie what he will tell the Captain about their blunder, and Captain ranks above Lieutenant (thank you, Lethal Weapon 4!).

I think Link's title was Seargeant wasn't it? When they had the western theme, he was the Sherriff.

I think that the Muppets Tonight Sketch was called "Fairyland PD" and showed Clifford and Bobo trying to solve various Nursery Rhyme Crimes. The third character was a human whatnot muppet known as the "Chief."

Some of the jokes were Bobo not being able to stop Humpty Dumpty from jumping from a tall building before they decide to make him into an omlette ("You cut up the onions and peppers and I would!") and whether putting on a pair of glasses was a suitable disguise - culminating in Clifford and Bobo asking a bespectacled Chief "What have you done with the Chief?"

If I remember rightly, all the sketches took place outsie the same building.

Outside the same building? That's funny. That's like the old western films of the 30's and 40's when they'd ride their horses past the same rock shot at different angles...SOMETIMES shot at different angles.

I liked when Link studied the front, left, and right profiles of Banana Nose Maldanado, he went. "I caught this guy and I'm still looking for this one and this one."

And I liked the episode when Patrol Bear brought in a vicious octopus for picking pockets at the aquarium. It was mostly a wrestling match with the octopus winning, stealing Fozzie's uniform and leaving leaving poor Fozzie, (if you'll excuse the pun) bare!

Also I liked when Fozzie pushed a car into the station, which Linked called ZZXKL, which was on its license plate. Link started to ask the car questions, but all they got were honking sounds. So they called in an interpreter, who was Gonzo. He said he was going to talk in the car's native TONG, by grabbing Fozzie's nose with some tongs causing him to make painful noises which the car understood while Gonzo interpreted what it was saying.

Hey, folks, need some help.

Pigs in Space has the same introduction (basically) for each sketch. Did BOP have the same opening announcement at the beginning of each sketch, and what was it? What about Fiaryland PD?

I believe it went like this:

"And now, ridding the world of evil, here comes Bear On Patrol"

Not sure about Fairyland PD
