I have just started wondering... can a Blue-Ray or HD DVD disc be played on a computer, like normal DVDs can?

Honestly, I was thinking this Hd/Blue Ray thing would actually make regular DVD's obsolete, but to me, it's a bunch of BS.

The reason we have 2 formats is that Microsoft and Sony want to battle each other over 360 and PS3. It's rediculous, and I think computers will make DVD's obsolete, because of recent attempts to Download movies and TV shows by Apple. It's a ways off before we should junk our collections, but don't worry about Hd/Blue ray yet.

I'd imagine if a computer has a bluray/hd drive, then yes! I think actual material discs, tapes, cartriges, etc. are a thing of the past. File downloads is where the future is at.
