So. The show's a classic, what's our fave moments?
  1. The opening scene @ the ice-skating party;
  2. Ernie and Bert in Hooper's Store;
  3. Bert, Ernie and Mr.Hooper scene.
I really do love this. It's one of my all-time favorites. So what's your favorite moment?

Same here, in fact, I think this is just about the oldest Sesame Street thing I've ever got to watch!

1. When Mr. Hooper give Ernie and Bert back their Rubber Duckie and paper clip collection, and they sing "Have Yourself a Merry Christmas"

2. Linda and the kids surprising Bob with their sign language of "Keep Christmas With You"

3. The part where Big Bird is waiting for Santa on the roof and a shadow passes by him. That part used to freak me out as a child lol

No worries... It's a great special, you can find great little parts to love from each time you watch it.

Always tried to catch it from the beginning when they used to air it on my PBS station during those Christmas days at 8 PM, always caught it already started. Good to finally have it in my library.

-Oscar being flung out the door and down the stairs
-Cookie eating all his writing utensils
-several of the theories Kermit comes up with, especially the one with Santa hiding in the laundry room on Thanksgiving
-Oscar's gerneral mayhem during "I Hate Christmas;" somehow the sight of him inching toward the awning with the broom is hysterical

Yeah, I always thought that was one of the more interesting theories!

I remember seeing the special for the first time as a kid. When the question came up about how Santa gets down the chimeney, I told my parents he must slide down. And sure enough, one of the kids tells Kermit the very same thing!

I also like this special because of the message Gordon gives Big Bird at the end. Sometimes, just because you can't prove something, it doesn't mean it won't happen. What's important is that it does.
