I know that it can be dangerous to post clips with Noggin or other corporate "bugs" in the corner of the screen on YouTube, but does anyone know if it's safe to post clips with local public television "bugs" on there? I'm afraid to try and find out, since I've already had two videos deleted in the last six months due to copyright issues (and neither had bugs in the corner!). Can anyone give me any information on this?

My guess is that unfortunately, you would get in trouble again if your local PBS station were to find out that their logo was being used. I guess it's possible that they wouldn't find out, but that's a risk you'd have to take. Also, it could be that YouTube itself may see the logo & delete it out of safety.

I think you basically run the same risk of putting any copywrited material up there. Some stuff gets taken down and deleted, but some clips stay around forever with no complain.

Just an anecdote - Last Sunday I found a clip on YouTube from the Ed Sullivan show that contained the TVLand logo in the corner. I saved it to my favorites to watch again later, and by Wednesday evening the clip had been removed. So they obviously are pretty serious about "seeking and destroying" clips with such logos.

And yet, they aren't as serious about seeking and destryoing terrorist training videos or hard core porn..... Guess copywrite infringements are more devistaing to children...
