XERUS'S VOICE ARTIST FOCUS:

This week's V/A focus is the well known Dan Castellaneta. You might've seen him as a regular on the Tracey Ullman Show. That show was also where the Simpsons first aired and Dan provided the voices for Homer and Grandpa. Pretty soon, the Simpsons became a regular series and Dan voiced a huge cast of characters on there. Dan also does voices for other characters outside the Simpsons, like the video game hero, Earthworm Jim. And he's a substitute voice for Disney's Genie whenever Robin Williams isn't available.

ALADDIN(THE SERIES): Genie, Frijheed, Ice Ifrit
ALL DOGS GO TO HEAVEN 2: Angel Dog #1, Tall Customs Dog
AN AMERICAN TAIL(THE SERIES): Chula

Well... The ones I like from that list...

Aladdin: Genie, always a source of laughs.
Darkwing Duck: Megavolt... One of the essentials from his villains roster.
*In my comparison of DW to Batman, Megavolt is the one I've got penciled in as the Riddler likeness.
The Batman: Arnold Wesker, his villain name is The Ventriloquist.
Although I thought the guy from Spongebob was voicing Scarface (the mobster dummy) and The Penguin in that series.
Olive the Other Reindeer, I kinda like that special.
Taz-Mania: Mr. Thickly... Yeah, I remember that series, a good one.
BTTF: Doc Brown. Now there's a series I rully miss. Along with the animated series for Bill & Ted.

Good job, look forward to next week's.

I know him best as the voice of Earl on Cow and Chicken.

And if I'm not mistaking, didn't he make a cameo appearance in Space Jam?

Ya know, something tells me that's not too far off. The resurgance of shows and cartoons from the 70's and 80s being made into movies tells me that Secret Squirrel will be made into a computer animated movie sometime soon and that Dan might provide the voice(I don't think it's official but who knows?) Dan also does a great job doing commentary on The Simpsons DVD

Didn't they already do a remake of Secret Squirrel as a part of 2 Stupid Dogs?

I don't know, I really don't watch that show, but if they did, they probably parodied it, but I'm talking about an actual movie(they did it with Rocky and Bullwinkle unfortunatly) But I know they did a parody of it on Harvey Birdman:Attorney at Law(great Adult Swim program if you ever get a chance to catch it)

And let us not forget Dan's cameo on Friends, as the insane zookeeper. I know, it wasn't a voice, but it was certainly memorable.
