Here's a question. I'm a student in my first year of university. I'm going for a bachelor of science with a major in biology.

However, in addition to a fascination with biology, I'm also toying with the idea of a career in professional puppetry. I've never taken any puppetry courses, or even any drama courses, not even in high school. Does my lack of education in the field, and the fact that my degree will be in science rather than some kind of art form, stand in the way of my chances of making it as a puppeteer (or, dare I say it, as a Muppeteer)? I have skill and experience, just no education.

I really want to do both these things. I want to finish my undergrad years, get my bachelor of science degree, then try for professional puppetry at the same time as whatever biological thing I go on to.

You guys think that would be okay? Or should I start rethinking my university plan if this is what I want to do?

Any and all advice would be more than welcome.

Best wishes,
