Doc's Workshop question

Sorry if this seems like a silly question, but it's been bugging me for a while now. Do Doc and Sprocket live in the workshop, or is it just an addition to their house?

I think that it is an add on to a small house, but that Doc loves his 'hobby' so much he might as well be living there :3
