Wasn't Ernie's shirt purple & orange at one point? When did it permanently become red & blue?

Has Bert's shirt always been the same? And when did Prarie Dawn begin wearing that blue dress & bow permanently?

Ernie's shirt was purple and orange during the first season. Ernie and Bert along with most of the puppets on the show were redesigned after the first year.

OK, I know this is a little esoteric - but I remember the purple/orange shirt, too.

My question is - when did they get the funky PJs? I don't remember if the pajamas were different in my day, but I vaguely remember stripes there, too. Am I crazy?
