My favorites are Blazing Saddles, Space Balls, and Silent Movie. I really want to see Life Stinks, but I can't find it at any video stores or any retail stores, and I never see it in the TV listings.

I planned on seeing the new version of The Producers the other night, but then I found out that the movie theater that I work at got rid of it on the night before I planned on seeing it. I did get to see a lot of scenes from the movie at work, though.

Would it be fair to list The Muppet Movie and it's a Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie as favorite Mel Brookes movies?

Not countign cameos, here is a list of all mel brookes movies that I've seen All of:
The Producers (original)
Blazing Saddles
Young Frankenstien
Silent Movie
Spaceballs
Dracula: Dead and Loving it

I can't believe it's taken me this long to give my opinion on the Producers movie. IMHO it was the second best movie of the year (first, of course, being Rent) and I think that Uma really added to it; I shudder to think of Cady Huffman reprising her role in the film! Will Ferrell was excellent too! He totally made the most of "Haben Sie Gehort Das Deutsche Band?"!

ALL i can add here is that the musical on broadway and the film Pale in comparison to the original film,
nathan lane and matthew broderick are no ZERO MOSTEL and GENE WILDER

I'm an annoyed audience member. I'm two (or three, I forget exactly) people away from Tim Mathieson and he has to squeeze past me when he gets up to leave. I also get rounded up and forced to leave the theater by the Nazis.

They cut my hair REALLY short for the movie. So short, I wouldn't even look at myself in the mirror! I wore a hat around for the next three weeks until it grew back.

Then, they gave me prop eyeglasses with REAL LENSES in them, so most of the time, I couldn't see a thing. That's a real good prescription for a headache! People said I kind of looked like a young Louis B. Mayer with the suit they gave me.

But Mel Brooks was hilarious on the set!

My top favorites are the Producers (both new and old... did you know Henson worked on the Nazi pigeons in the new one? Fran Brill and Matt Vogel were amoung the puppeteers), Spaceballs, History of the world part 1, and Young Frankenstine.

I was a little dissappointed by Dracula: Dead and loving it. It had my fave director and my fave comedic actor (Leslie Neilson)... but it really lacked a lot. it was funny, but it could have been funnier.

Hmm...I think Young Frankenstein. That one just never fails to make me smile. Everytime I see it..it never gets old!

Then, Xela, you'll LOVE this news; Mel is now in the process of turning Young Frankenstein into a Broadway musical! Hopefully, his (soon-to-be) 80 years won't interfere with the green light to make THIS adapt happen!

Then again, when has it ever?:stick_out_tongue:
