The Island creator of the Big Comfy Couch children's program is launching a new web series for toddlers.

Cheryl Wagner has created Bunny Bop, a new web series of five-minute episodes featuring preschoolers in bunny suits playing with toys.

It's geared towards toddlers.

Wagner said even the pastel-coloured website is easy enough for a child to navigate.

"It's not full of whiz bang flash flash, it's very gentle, and that's the intention of the show," said Wagner.

All 15 episodes were shot in Charlottetown using Island children.
Wagner said she wanted to emphasize diversity and portrays children with different ethnic backgrounds and abilities.

"We had three children who had been adopted from China. We had a beautiful little boy who has Down syndrome, but fit right in," said Wagner. "I wanted every child to feel there was someone up there that looked like they did."

The project cost $200,000 to make. Half of the funding came from a special pilot project, paid for by Innovation PEI.

The rest came from private investors
