Fur?

Does anyone know where to order really long fur? Like the fur used for Nicky and Rod's hair from Avenue Q.

I love the "Punky Muppet" fur at Mendel's but their "Shag" seems to have a longer 'nap'. The great thing is, they will send up to 5 swatches of different fur for you to get an idea of what they offer. http://www.mendels.com/fur2.shtml

Try looking at Fabric.com's selection: with fur being a "seasonal" item with them, you'll probably find a pretty good selection at discount prices that would be considerably cheaper than Mendels... not to mention, their shipping charges are a bit more reasonable too.

Over here I found the local chain of sewing stores sells faux-fur shag that is incredibly long, but only in a black/white/grey dye-job. I do plan on using it in future for a torso though. Unfortunately, I've come to realise that long fur is really expensive - the fur I desire goes for $75 a metre! (last I checked the Aus dollar was on par with US dollar too).
