March 20 is a big day! first, it's supposedly Big Bird's birthday (though I don't know where they come up with birthdays of muppets...), and he is, of course, turning 6...again...
but it's also Fred Rogers's birthday, and he would have been 81. so happy birthday, Mister Rogers, we miss you! i think i'll celebrate by watching his appearance on Sesame Street--those clips are on youtube: part 1 and part 2. and if you haven't seen the Archive of American Television interview of him (also on youtube: here's part 1), i highly recommend it--he brings out his puppets and talks about the origins of the characters and stuff. he's so...well, he's so himself. and we love him just the way he is.
