from a "so-called" fan

if refusing to open the hymnal and sing "praise eisner" without question is enough to get me labeled a "so-called fan", i have just one retort.......and i can't use it here.

know your target better before you shoot off your big mouth. that's only funny when a muppet does it.

"DISNEY's muppets" may suddenly undo all the crass, shallow, shoddy stuff now associated with a once-great studio. but from where i've been watching, over the past 50 years, history doesn't support such blind acceptance.

I agree that the timing of this deal could've been better, and I agree that both companies are in a fragile state at the moment, and I agree that Michael Eisner's gotta go. I also agree that mistakes were made the last time they attempted to work together. But this deal, sorry to say, was bound to happen sooner or later. Maybe something positive or redeeming will come out of it, like better promotion and products like complete seasons of TMS and MT on DVD, or reissues of the movie and TV soundtracks on CD. Maybe the mistakes of the past have been learned and will finally be corrected.

Since I made the previous posting, I've read the editorial that Phillip wrote, and I must admit that I am troubled by some of the details. My initial understanding was that Disney bought ALL the Muppet characters except the Sesame Street ones. Since the JHC is still independent, couldn't their separate agreement with Disney trigger a revival in its fortunes? Maybe it could stimulate the JHC to reissue the other Muppet stuff like Fraggle Rock and re-energize itself so it can create new Muppet projects (despite being in competition with itself under Disney)

The jury's still out on this one, but I'm just disenchanted with the so-called fans wanting to give the Disney-Henson union a write-off. A fan without faith is no fan at all, IMO. Our voices and consumer power -- not to mention the future of the Muppets themselves -- may certainly implode if keep bickering amongst ourselves.

I'm in Sydney Australia right now...and wish I was at home now so I could be there during all of this! But I'm here working on a "secret" project. More on that soon, I hope!

Does this "secret" project start with "F"? I can hardly wait for it not to be a "secret" anymore!

I don't know about the rest of you but I know that my main love for the Henson Company is the Muppet's, it's because of the Muppets that I go into FR (which I love) and SS (which I love) as well as DC & Labyrinth (which truthfuly I don't like all that much) had it not been for the connection with Henson I wouldn't have seen those movies. The only reason I was going to buy the new DC and Labyrinth stuff it's because it's connected to Henson, the only reason I sometimes buy Bear stuff is because it's (or was) connected to Henson. My point is that now that my main intrest the Muppets belong to Disney I really have no need to keep supporting Henson. So in other words if there's more people like me who were into eveything Henson becaus ethey had the Muppets then Henson is going to lose out big time.

Could someone give me the Henson company's email address. was it Webmaster@Henson.com?

BTW it's nice to know I can come here and talk to you guys, in my actual life no one really cares about this. I can't start a good conversation with someone about this becaue they're not well informed or just don't care. Luckily I have you guys to talk too. :zany:

It's Great

I understand some are mad at the acquring of the Muppets and Disney but I look at it as a good thing because Disney will show old Muppet Show Episodes on TV which is good along with the specials and the movies. So I really dont understand why people will be mad. If your mad, blow yourself up like Crazy Harry

They'll likely only show anything on The Disney Channel or some other cable network I don't get.

I've heard about this in the news too.

I don't know if this sounds good or not.
