Sadly today we lose a great actor.For people who might not know mr Gandolfini played the well known mob boss Tony Soprano on the television series The Sopranos. A very sad day for many fans of his work R.I.P James Gandolfini :frown::cry:

I remember when he appeared on SST back in Season 33... he looked as if he really did not want to be there. :stick_out_tongue:

I heard that on Tough Pigs. He did the voice of Carol in the 2009 film, Where the Wild Things Are. These were one of the Henson experiments James had.

He actually grew up in the town over from mine.

Saw it in the paper this morning and was genuinely shocked. Only 51, relatively young. Great actor.

It was nice that much of the Sopranos was shot literally in my backyard.
And Holstein's Ice Cream Parlor in Bloomfield, where the last scene was shot,
is a very nice, retro-style soda fountain, looks a lot like Hooper's store back in the day.

He also made several documentaries spotlighting returning veterans, how they dealt with post-traumatic-stress-disorder, and thrying to integrate back into society.
So he was much more than just playing a mob boss.
