Maybe it's because the other two movies played them as young Jewish guy stereotypes or something?

Oh... actual fact about the original movie... it was only independently released because one of the production companies thought that it was anti-semetic because of all the Jewish Stereotypes. But like I said... 1950's Mad Magazine. Everyone spoke in bursts of Yiddish in those things.
