Just another comment...

Somebody said that on "Sesame Street" today Frank performed Bert in the kareoke contest, so technically for #11, either A or B would be correct.

Beau is wrong (and Super Scooter did not catch it) about the nuber of STAR WARS movies Frank Oz preformed Yoda in. As of now (Episode III will make Beau right), Frank Oz has preformed Yoda in Episodes I, II, V, and VI. That makes it 4, not 5.

The Answers

1. Frank Oz was born in which country?

C. United Kingdom

Frank was born Frank Oznowicz in the United Kingdom.

2. Which one of these Frank Oz characters did NOT appear on "The Muppet Alphabet Album"?

D. Xavier

Xavier was a pink Anything Muppet boy that appeared in an alphabet segment on "Sesame Street", but not on "The Muppet Alphabet Album".

3. True or false: Fozzie Bear's name was a play on Frank Oz's.

B. False

It was actually a play on the name of Faz Fazakas, who invented the mechanism that made Fozzie's ears wiggle, among other things.

4. What did Frank Oz play in "The Blues Brothers"?

C. A prison guard

...and some of his characters' likenesses (in stuffed animal form) did get thrown around during a chase scene in said film...

5. Which one of these songs is NOT associated with one of Frank Oz's "Sesame Street" characters?

C. "One Small Voice"

"Doin' The Pigeon" was associated with Bert, "C Is For Cookie"...well, that's obvious...and Grover sang "Monster In The Mirror".

6. Which film was Frank Oz's directorial debut?

B. "The Muppets Take Manhattan"

As mentioned in this thread, this was Frank Oz's SOLO directorial debut.

7. True or False: Frank Oz directed the movie "Parenthood".

B. False

This film was directed by Ron Howard, although two perennial stars of Frank Oz films, Steve Martin and Rick Moranis, did have starring roles.

8. Who else (besides Frank Oz) performed Miss Piggy on "The Muppet Show"?

D. Richard Hunt

Richard tried his hand (no pun intended) at performing Miss Piggy during the first season, where he and Frank would often switch off.

9. In how many Star Wars movies has Frank Oz performed Yoda?

D. 5

Yoda has been in all but the original "Star Wars" movie from 1977.

10. We all know that Bert and Fozzie have similar voices, but whose voice is similar to that of Sam the Eagle's?

B. Professor Hastings

This Muppet's running gag was that his lectures were so boring that he'd put himself to sleep.

11. Who currently performs Bert?

B. Eric Jacobson

Frank Oz does perform Bert on occasion, but for the most part Eric Jacobson has taken over the role.

12. Who did Frank Oz perform on "Fraggle Rock"?

D. Nobody

Although I think he would've done great things with Boober. No offense to Dave Goelz, of course!

13. How many of Frank's characters have gone to the Academy Awards?

A. 1

Following her appearance in "The Muppet Movie", Miss Piggy exchanged quips with Johnny Carson, who said she was Oscar material--Oscar Mayer!

14. Frank Oz directed Steve Martin in which two films?

C. "Little Shop of Horrors" and "Housesitter"

Steve played the sadistic dentist Orin Scrivello, D.D.S. in "Little Shop of Horrors" (and did a great improvised scene with Bill Murray) and architect Newton Davis in "Housesitter" opposite Goldie Hawn.
