Peanuts:

Charlie Brown: Kermit (in one of his disappointed moods)
Lucy Van Pelt: Miss Piggy (That was an easy one)
Linus Van Pelt: Gonzo (in one of his more philosophical moods)
Schroeder: Probably Rowlf
Snoopy: Fozzie (especially as the "world-famous writer")
Rerun Van Pelt: Scooter?
Sally Brown: Good question.
Woodstock: Beaker
"Peppermint" Patty Reichardt: Janice (?)
Marcie: Dress Bunsen Honeydew in a dark wig.
Spike: Floyd or Zoot
Frieda: Annie Sue
Franklin: Maybe Robin
I'm afraid I must kindly disagree with you on a few points..

First off, Scooter would need to be Linus. they are both genious kids, and gonzo is hardly without his weird side.. or Linus might be like Dr. Bunsen

Snoopy can't be fozzy cause fozzy is way to comical and snoopy too serious, He is only comical because his seriousness is so hillarious.. I'd say he is more like Sam the egal...

Pig-pen isn't anything like oscar and cookie monster.. though it's hard to say who he IS like.. he's very unique.

Sally should probably be compared to Skeeter from the muppet babies.

I'm tempted to compare Franklin to someone on the electric Mayham.. though I'm not totally sure which one..

Peppermint patty is too much of a tom boy for janice.. but I'm not sure who else would fit the bill.. so she mayb be your best choice.. Though perhaps I'd swap with Sally and give peppermint patty Skeeter (a more tom boy characture) and give Sally Janice...

Marcy's characture is only like that of Dr. Bunsen if you are speaking of their intelegence level, and there glasses.. but the similaritys stop there. She is more like fozzy the bear then Bunsen.

hah, that's just my thoughts on the matter, being a belovid Peanuts fan

Dennis Mitchell: Andy or Randy Pig
Joey: Scooter
George Wilson: Sam the Eagle (or, if we wanted to open it up to Sesame characters, Oscar the Grouch)
Margaret: Good question. Prairie Dawn, perhaps?
Martha Wilson: Ma Bear

Well, you have personality to consider, too, and Rowlf is kind of laid-back (more so than most)
But really, this is a fun challenge since the correspondence in personality is not one-to-one (for example, parts of Garfield's personality would better fit Cookie Monster).
I don't really remember enough about Lyman's personality to cast him. Any suggestions for Liz and Irma?

Gaffer is more like garfield than rowlf.
All gaffer does is lie around and sleep all day.
And hes big and fat!
