Shaming is better and more effective than an outright ban. Still, I have to wonder... if corn was supposed to make everything that much cheaper, why didn't they take into consideration that a drought causing a corn shortage could happen? It got so bad that they couldn't even feed livestock with it. And remember, it was a cheap substitute for that as well. I guess we can forget about corn plastics and ethanol as well. And it really is a shame, since corn could have done so much good rather than being just a substitute for sugars. Now it's like, might as well just use sugar as all corner cutting benefits have gone.
And isn't sugarcane more drought-resistant than corn? That's why most of it is grown in hot, dry places in the world.
