Probably an idiotic question

I downloaded a Gonzo ringtone for my cellphone tonight, and a question popped into my head... did Dave Goelz actually sit down and record these? The voice sounds a bit off, and I was kind of curious.

Where did you download it from?

If it is one of the official Muppet ringtones (such as these), then yes it is actually Dave Goelz. Dave, Steve, Bill and Eric recorded a whole bunch of voice tones back around 2005.

I got mine through my cell-phone provider's download site. I checked the link you provided, and it matches what they have there. I was just concerned because the voice just seemed kind of off pitch for Goelz.

Why is it everyone always sounds different on the phone?

I never knew about these. Cool, but I don't think they work with Sprint. The first time I've been unhappy with my provider.
