Hi Guys,

My Puppetry Club and I are getting ready for our second stage show, which happens in two weeks. We have been building puppets (still are) and getting everything ready. I just wanted to share with you one of the advertisments we've done so far, that aired today on our school television annoucments.

We have also made a Behind the Scenes feature of making the commercial that we've entered in our school Film Festival which happens next Wednesday. This year we're really going a long way, but I'm going to keep some details secret until we're ready. Enjoy the these vids!

*Sorry but because its youtube the quality is off and is pixilated on some of the faster scenes.*

Great stuff , your club is doing fantastic work, keep it up, wish we had the interest and technology to do that stuff back when i was in high school, alas i was the lone puppeteer back then.

Cool!Thanks TheCreatureWork!

CPR Puppet & Ravagefrackle Thanks for the Nice comments!Yea.The technolgy definetly does help.As does going to Huge school, we have 6000 students (2nd largest in US.1st is in Texas).most high schools have around 2000.

I did a count of the puppets we're building this year for the show compared to last years and we have 4 more puppet characters. The script is also 20 pages Longer! Its also (in my opinon) a bit funnier than last years, so.I'm pretty happy about that.

More Updates coming soon!

Uhm....so I guess by "soon"....I Really meant 20 days later....:frown: ...sorry bout that....

Anyway...I have some pics of our puppets and then video links probably (hopefully) by Friday

This show we built nine Brand New puppets and then sold most of them at a silent auction after the show. Our show had an audience of 153 people!...thats 28 more than last year, and there was consistant laughing thourghout the show.

Here are our Characters.

Just like last years show we used the "Special Guest hosts the Variety Show" format....except this show we had two special guests. In one of the sketches they were turned into puppets and one of the club members wrote the scene and designed the puppets.

Them with their Puppets--Mike on the left, Mario on the right.

Mike Puppet--

Mario Puppet--

Incase you're wondering....The Mario puppet does have chest hair coming out of his shirt. That was one of the things we decided to caracture with him, and of course Mike's shirt.

This is my pride and joy of this show. We started work on this character in Janurary and worked on it twice a week since then. We weren't able to finish, but we were able to get the effect accross. We were working on this litterally 20 minutes before the curtain opened. We are going to continue working on this project and improve somethings, put fabric on the feet and put eyes on. Take a Look

Here is a Backstage photo of the puppeteer--who is a Freshman--in the suit and getting ready before the show. Also you can check out how large the costume is and check out one of our set pieces.

This character moved Really well onstage and the audience Really enjoyed the character, he rattled of jokes line after line and was ridiculus. I'm definetly uploading video of him. Don't worry.

We also filmed EVERY hour of his construction and it will be released as a documentary on our DVD.....he only cost $400 in material.....If labor were added in, it would be a WHOLE lot more.

Till next time with videos...let me know what you think!

Haha what a great idea, you guys are doing great stuff!

A minor suggestion however is too keep those arms covered with long black gloves. If you see in the elevator scene and also the clip where you guys play the Austin Powers Songs [don't know what it's called] you can seen some human skin O:
Keep up the great work!

Thanks Whispers

So, I now have the whole show up on youtube....although not in order, but that doesn't matter because they were just sketches and didn't really build on each other much.

In this post I will only supply 3 links....because I know I go "link crazy"

Here is the link to all my youtube videos and the top row is from the show;
http://www.youtube.com/profile_videos?user=gfarkwort

This is the suit in action....this is the first time he appeared in the show
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FrIEox4CoSk

And this is the sketch where our special guests Mike and Mario were turned into puppets. Now.....this is their first time puppeteering and Mike even said he never played with puppets when he was younger. They were given only about 15 minutes on instruction on how to lip-sync....and I think they did pretty well. They were our special guest because they are known at our school and have a fan base from being stage actors and singers........wait a moment......stage actor and singer means "puppeteer" to Disney........bother.....
