Seriously, if there's one person I have faith in to capture it, it's Roger

Long have I been wanting a decent new Popeye project that goes back to the roots of the great Thimble Theater comics, and doesn't turn into the cartoon version where Bluto tries to get Olive Oyl so Popeye eats spinache and beats him up for it. Those cartoons are fine, I like them, they're alright... but if you ever read a Thimble Theater comic, it's an amazing treat.

Roger has become one of my favorite comic book writer/artists in recent months. Not just because of his stint working for the Muppet Show comics. His work outside that comic is also something amazing to behold. I recently thumbed through "The Show must Go on" at a book store and cursed myself for not having the cash to buy it.

Snarked, I highly recommend. That's the proof I need he can handle a Thimble Theater style Popeye. Wilburforce Walrus has become one of my favorite indie comic book characters, right up there with Groo, the Ninja Turtles, and The Tick.
