Does anyone know the origin of the song 'Memory Lane' as sung by both Gonzo the Great :concern: and Rowlf :sympathy:? Is it a Muppet original or did they did they borrow it, as I presume they did, from someone else? If anyone could tell me who wrote it and when, I would very much appreciate it. Thank you. :super:

Here's the lyrics if you need a reminder:

I am strolling down memory lane
without a single thing to remember
I am strolling down memory lane
without even a dying ember

Some folks remember their mothers
and others their girlfriends behind
But I am strolling down memory lane
without a single thing on my mind

Two other Abe Burrows songs, "A Gypsy's Violin" and "When", were also included in the Peter Sellers episode. He also wrote "Carbon Paper" (performed on the Leo Sayer & Phyllis George episodes) and "Sea Chantey" (performed on the Petula Clark episode). "A Gyspy's Violin" and "Sea Chantey" were performed by Burrows on his 1950 LP "Abe Burrows Sings?"

In his entry in "Who's Who?", the song is referred to as "I Am Walking Down Memory Lane Without a Single Thing to Remember".
