One day, Guy Smiley came to Sesame Street to host an easter egg hunt.

"Hello, ladies and gentlemen!", said Guy Smiley, "I am your favorite game show host, Guy Smiley, and today, I am, on Sesame Street to host an easter egg hunt!"

Everybody on the street clapped their hands, except for Oscar.

"Boo!", said Oscar, "I hate easter egg hunts, unless I am hunting for rotten easter eggs".

"Nearly 30 easter eggs have been hidden", said Guy Smiley, "And whoever finds the most eggs wins a great basket full of easter eggs!"

"Oh, can me win a basket of cookies instead?", asked Cookie Monster.

"Only if you win", said Guy Smiley, "And I will introduce our participants. Our participants include: Big Bird, Cookie Monster, Ernie, Elmo, Zoe, Sherlock Hemlock, and Abby Cadabby!"

Everybody clapped.

"And now, let the easter egg hunt begin!", said Guy Smiley.

"Oh, boy!", said Elmo.

"I, Sherlock Hemlock, the worlds greatest detective, will find the most eggs!", said Sherlock Hemlock.

"Where or where could the eggs be?", wondered Ernie, who turned to Bert, "Hey, Bert! Have you seen any easter eggs?"

"No, Ernie", said Bert.

Big Bird noticed an easter egg on top of the Sesame Street sign.

"Oh, there's an egg!", said Big Bird, who tried to reach it, but couldn't.

"Oh, it's too high to reach, even for me", said Big Bird.

"It's also too high for me", said a hippie.

"I will help you get it!", said Super Grover, who then flew up into the air, but flew higher than he needed to go.

"Well, there goes Super Grover", siad Big Bird.

"I'll help you", said Herry, who pulled the sign from the ground and lowered the egg to Big Bird.

"Oh, now I can get it", said Big Bird, but unfortunately, the egg fell from the sign. Elmo suddenly caught it.

"Elmo found the first egg!", said Elmo, "Yaayyyyyy!!!"

"Oh, good job", said Big Bird, reluctantly.

Chapter 2

The egg hunt continued. Ernie walked past Lefty, who approached him.

"Psst! Hey, bud...", said Lefty.

"Who, me?", said Ernie, loudly.

"Shhhhh!", said Lefty.

"Who, me?", whispered Ernie.

"Riiiight", said Lefty, "I hear you're looking for some easter eggs."

"Right!", said Ernie, loudly.

"Shhh!!", said Lefty.

"Right", said Ernie in a soft-sounding voice.

"Riiight", said Lefty, "Well, I've got six easter eggs for you!"

"oh, thank you", said Ernie.

"But they cost a nickle a piece", said Lefty.

"A piece?", questioned Ernie.

"Shhh!!!", said Lefty.

"Well, I've got six nickles. I'll take them", said Ernie.

"Thanks for doing buisness with ya", said Lefty, who chuckled.

Cookie Monster started to find some eggs.

"oh, boy!", said Cookie Monster, who found an egg on the step of the Furry Arms Hotel and then ate it.

"Hey, you're not supposed to eat those eggs", said Telly.

"Uh-oh", said Cookie Monster, who then foudn another egg on the ground and ate it.

Benny came out of the hotel.

"Hey, are you the easter bunny?", asked Telly.

"That's BENNY!", snapped Benny.

Sherlock Hemlock went to the park looking for eggs.

"Now, let me think", said Sherlock Hemlock, "Eggs are round, so I must look for round objects."

He spotted a rock.

"Egad! That's a round object!", said Sherlock, "But wait a minute, it's not an easter egg. Hmmm, easter eggs are supposed to be colorful..."

Then, multi-colored bird arrived.

"Hey, you're multi-colored!", said Sherlock, "You must be an easter egg!"

"I'm not an easter egg", said the bird, "But I do produce eggs."

Just then, Super Grover crash landed on top of Sherlock Hemlock. The bird ran away.

"Ohh, what pain!", said Super Grover.

Grover got off Sherlock Hemlock, who then got up. Sherlock's hat had fallen off him.

"Oh, Sherlock", said Super Grover, "I have never seen you without your hat before!"

"Oh, it must have fallen off", said Sherlock, who looked down, and saw an easter egg stored in his hat.

"Egad!", said Sherlock, "An easter egg!"

"Well, I have got to go and see if I can help advance the plot of this story", said Super Grover.

Chapter 3

Abby Cadabby was having trouble finding easter eggs.

"Oh, if only I could find some eggs", said Abby.

She saw an easter egg next to the bottom of Oscar's trash can.

"oh, boy!", said Abby.

But then Ernie showed up and quickly took the egg.

"I found another one", said Ernie.

"Drats!", said Abby.

Abby then walked over to Hooper's Store, where she saw an egg on the window ledge, but then Zoe came and took it.

"I've found another one!", said Zoe, proudly.

"If only I can find one", cried Abby.

Harvey Kneeslapper then approached Abby.

"Heh heh heh, did you say you want to find one?", asked Harvey Kneeslapper.

"Yes, I'd really like to find one", said Abby, "Everyone else has found at least one".

"Well, I'll give you one", said Harvey, who predictably slapped a number one on Abby.

Harvey laughed and walked away as Abby got really mad.

"I'll teach you a lesson!", said Abby, who waved her wand and said, "Send 'em away!"

Several cars from up in the sky then fell on Harvey.

"I know what I can do!", said Abby, who waved her wand again, "Allrednic, allrednic, giv giv goo! Let me find the most easter eggs!"

However, her magic words caused it to rain easter eggs on Sesame Street.

"I've found the most!", said a happy Abby.

"oh, wow!", said Cookie Monster, "It raining eggs!"

Cookie Monster then caught some eggs and ate them.

"One egg! Two eggs! Three eggs!", counted The Count as more and more eggs fell from the sky.

"Wow", said Bert, "Plot progression".

"I've got more than thirty eggs now", said Ernie.

"oh, yuck!", said Oscar, observing the flood of easter eggs, "A kind of rain I don't like. The beautiful kind!"

However, it kept raining.

"Well, everybody, the easter egg hunt will have to end early due to heavy easter egg rain", said Guy Smiley, "Now I won't know who found the most eggs honestly". More eggs fell onto Guy Smiley.

"These eggs are starting to hurt Elmo", said Elmo.

"Make it stop!", said Zoe.

"I didn't expect it to rain eggs for this long", said Abby, who waved her wand, "Allredic, allrednic, spell revearse please!"

However, it started rainign more eggs.

"We're hopeless", said Abby.

"Maybe I should have built the arc I was told to build", said Grover, "I should have tried harder to find two of every animal, but dinosaurs are sooo hard to find..."

Chapter 4

The eggs were starting to hurt people.

"Ouch!", cried Snuffy, "These eggs are hurting me!"

"Maybe I could sit on some eggs", said Big Bird.

"Maybe we should all go inside and get some shelter!", said Ernie.

Everybody ran to 123 Sesame Street. Big Bird put his hand on the door, but had trouble opening it.

"Oh, there are too many eggs blocking the door", cried Big Bird.

"I'll help you", said Herry, who pulled the door off. Everybody ran inside.

Sherlock Hemlock, Cookie Monster, Elmo, Zoe, Telly, and Don Music all went to Ernie and Bert'sd apartment.

"Well, there is plenty of room for everybody", said Ernie.

"How can you say that?", asked Bert, "There are only two beds".

"Oh, I hope that the eggs stop falling", said Zoe.

"Hey, where cookies?", asked Cookie Monster.

"I am worried", said Telly, "If it doesn't stop raining eggs, we'll be covered with eggs for the rest of our lives, and we'll be stuck inside! And we might not be able to celebrate christmas!"

"Well, at least all of my bottle caps are safely inside with me", said Bert.

Outside, Oscar was enjoying the situation.

"I may have hated this easter egg rain at first", said Oscar, "But now it's got everybody going mad!"

Big Bird, Snuffy, Abby Cadabby, Grover, and Herry Monster all went to Luis and Maria's apartment.

"Boy, it's still bad out there", said Luis, looking out the window.

"This is worse than the hurricane that destroyed my nest", said Big Bird.

"I hope that it stops soon", said Gabbi, "I've got to go work at Hooper's Store".

"And I've got toasters to fix", said Maria.

"This looks like a job for Super Grover!", said Grover.

"Well, good luck", said Luis, "But now I can't see if it's still raining eggs or not".

"Why not?", asked Herry.

"Because there's a big pile of eggs blocking the window", said Luis.

"This is all my fault", said Abby, "If I hadn't used my mmagic wand and words, it wouldn't have rained egs".

"This also wouldn't have happened if you knew that it doesn't matter if you win or lose", said Gabbi.

"It doesn't?", said Abby, "Well, I feel stupid now".

Chapter 5

Maria turned on the TV and watched the news, where the Newsflash logo appeared.

"We take you now to Kermit the Frog for a fast-breaking news story!", said the announcer.

Kermit the Frog appeared in apile of eggs, as more eggs were falling on him.

"Hi, ho, Kermit the Frog here", said Kermit, "It is suddenly raining easter eggs on the street! It won't stop raining, either, but let's see how people feel about it."

A man was trying to get through the eggs.

"Excuse me, Kermit the Frog here for Sesame Street News. Can you tell me how you feel about the sudden egg flood?"

"I feel frusterated!", said the man, "I am allergic to eggs!"

The man then sneezed, and his sneeze was strong enough to send Kermit away.

"Well, that's one response", said Kermit, who then saw a woman trying to make her way through thee ggs, "Excuse me, miss, but how do you feel about the flood?"

"I feel terrible", said the woman, "I wanted to paint them myself!"

Kermit then saw Dr. Feel come by.

"Hey, excuse me, but how do you feel about the sudden flood?", asked Kermit.

"I feel terrible!", said Dr. Feel, "I am the one whose supposed to be asking how people feel!"

Maria and the others were watching the news.

"What terrible circumstances", said Maria.

"Well, look on the bright side", said Grover, "There are plenty of eggs for us to cook for breakfast, lunch, and dinner!"

"I feel terrible for causing this", said Abby, "And I can't stop it!"

Suddenly, the Elmo's World theme came on...

"La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, Elmo's World!", sung Elmo, "La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, Elmo's World! Elmo loves his goldfish, his crayons, too! That's Elmo's World!"

"Hi, thisis Elmo's World! Da da da da! Elmo is so happy to see you, and so is Dorthy. Say hello,Dorthy. And guess what Elmo is thinking about today?"

Elmo went to the door and opened it, and several easter eggs came falling out the door.

"Easter eggs! You know, easter eggs!"

However, more eggs started falling on Elmo from out of his closet.

Back at Ernie and Bert's apartment...

"Elmo sure is lucky", said Bert, "He managed to leave and go to Elmo's World".

"Yeah, I guess that is lucky", said Ernie.

"uh, why is that lucky?", asked Don Music.

"Me soooooo hungry!", said Cookie Monster.

"Why don't you go outside and eat the easter eggs?", asked Bert.

"What great idea!", said Cookie Monster, who ran outside to eat the eggs.

Ernie and Bert looked out the window.

"How, what a healthy appetite", said Ernie.

"Yeah", said Bert, "Even though it's not healthy to eat off the ground".

"But it is still raining easter eggs", said Sherlock Hemlock, "And it looks like it may never stop. Cookie Monster also looks like he's getting full".

Chapter 6

Luis looked out the window.

"Well, it looks like Cookie Monster ate a lot of the eggs, but it's still raining easter eggs", said Luis.

"Oh, if only I hadn't...", said Abby.

"Oh, you've blamed yourself many times today", said Maria.

"Well, maybe I can try to make the eggs stop again", said Abby.

"Well, just be sure that you know what you're doing this time", said Big Bird.

And Abby said the magic words, "Allernic egg, allernic egg, go go, go away!"

And it worked! All of the eggs popped into dust. Cookie Monster staretd coffing.

Oscar looked out of his can. "Hey, dusty air! It's not such a bad day after all!"

Ernie looked outside his window, "The eggs are gone!"

Everyone cheered.

Then Bert looked outside, "Yes, but I still don't want to go outside. It looks too polluted."

Big Bird and Abby both went outside.

"Well, the dust is almost gone, but you've saved the day", said Big Bird.

"And now we can continue the easter egg hunt", said Abby.

But then they heard thunder, and it started to rain.

"Well, maybe not today", said Big Bird.

The End
