THE LADY FROM SOCKHOLM, a feature length sock puppet film noir spoof, is looking for crew with puppetry experience. We specifically need to fill the following paid positions:
PUPPETEERS
Hand and rod puppet experience. We are looking for an additional lead puppeteer who would be available for the entire shoot ( 12/6 - 12/18 ). We will also need dayplayers for secondary puppeteering duties.
PUPPET MAKERS
We have about 60 puppets that need to be made. We have a lead puppet designer who will be making the main characters, but we need additional assistance with secondary and background puppets. Characters will be sock puppets with felt arms and miniature costumes (hats, coats, etc.). This could also be a job for a seamstress -- we would provide instructions and a sample puppet.
MINIATURE SET DESIGN/CONSTRUCTION/MODELER
Have 25 miniature sets to construct. There will be one stage that will be redressed for each scene. Need someone with experience in 3-D construction using the following types of materials: foam core, magic sculpt, sculpy, green foam, heavy poster board, x-acto blades, files, cyno, and fabric.
About the project... shooting on super-16 in Atlanta, Georgia during the month of December. Screenplay was a Slamdance and Cinestory finalist. Self-financed indie (so while their is pay for most positions, don't expect to get rich!). Filming will be on one sound stage (no equipment to move) and the proposed shooting dates are December 6 to 18. We begin official pre-production on October 1 and this is when set and puppet construction needs to begin.
