*wonder what's going on, while covering myself up with the bedcover*

*look at Johnny fast asleep and wonder if he could even manage to oversleep the end of the world*

(Vincent, werewolves can change at will most of the time, the moon just forces a transformation)

*the spirit of the petrified bat demon appears*

Spirit: That was a nice thing you did...

*start to smile when I recognize her*

Spirit: How do you like being a bat demon? You must really love my brother if you were able to be turned into one

I still have to get used to transforming but I like being a bat demon.

*look at Johnny, smiling softly*

Spirit: Yes, but please don't tell him...And no, he is not a hundred years old, he's still only 20. The terrible thing about being turned to stone is that your spirit is still awake and aware of everything that is happening around you. But your body cannot be restored. My parents...his parents...would visit me a lot. They told me about their plan to hide and make sure John was going to be safe...the last time I saw him he was a baby...

I won't tell him, I promise.

Knowing what's going on but not being able to act... that's terrible. It's unfair that some people - human and non-human alike - think they're better than everyone else and kill those who oppose them...

*look at Johnny and then back at the spirit*
But then came the attack that ended with Johnny being the last bat demon until recently. At least he's safe and I will always be there for him.

Spirit: yes...I am aware of the attack. I always thought that there were no survivors though. When you came to visit, it wasn't until he entered his demon form that I knew it was him. He still has those big goofy ears *laughs* But I was more surprised that you were a witch and much you cared for him. I suppose it is unfair of me to judge all witches, but...I have honestly never met a good witch...*looks away as she says this*

*chuckle at the ears comment*

I don't blame you, I don't think I would have thought of witches being good either if I only ever met evil ones. But I guess we should still hope there are good monsters and demons out there, even though we mostly met evil monsters...
And it doesn't matter what we are, what matters is who we are.

Spirit: You are right. But I'm glad that John has someone who cares about him. Your deep feelings for each other and strong bond is what allowed you to be turned. Bat demons by nature are very sensitive and get their feelings hurt easily. We might be pranksters but we would never hurt or kill anyone unless we really had to. And because we are higher ranking demons, it means that more people who want to be turned would use it for evil. That's why only true love will allow someone to be turned...

That would explain why no other attempts were successful.

I could never use my powers for evil, all I want is to help other. I may be mean and I may have an evil streak, but I would never intentionally hurt anyone - physically and emotinally.

Spirit: I must be going now. I cannot maintain a form for much longer. Take good care of my baby brother

*the spirit disappears*
