The Internet Movie Data Base has become extremely popular.
Other sites seem less well-known, yet these are maybe a little less dry than IMDB, which seems to be essentially a reference tool.

The DVD Beaver:

The Beaver-webmaster's love for movies is inspiring.

For Christians, Christianity at the Movies:

Oscilloscope, A little, quirky company with an accent on quality (not snobbery...) :stick_out_tongue:

http://www.oscilloscope.net/film/

Finally, moving up the snobbery scale a wee bit, Film Movement:

but tons of movies. The Island from Russia is particularly cool.

Cool! Thanks for the links.
I'm not surprised Christianity Today has a section covering movies- that's good. I'm glad they do offer a Christian perspective. Another really great site for that is HollywoodJesus.com:smile::big_grin:

Thanks for the tip, G.L. ! Thanks also for all your input on this site.

The King-Daddy film website is www.variety.com . It is intended for people working in the film industry, and they put an awful lot into it. I remember thumbing through the print version of Variety as a boy, disappointed that a magazine about something so magical should be so dull: not so with the web version....BUT -- recently they have cut down the amount of access for those who will not pay...a few hundred...

Maybe if Drtooth took over the world we would all be better off?

Jim Henson's manager, producer of the Mupet Show.

Neglected to mention who Bernie was: Bernie Brillstein.

Bernie is a sweetheart to listen to.

Should have been a Muppet!
Actually he was! Or at least was made into a Muppet. Jim gave Bernie a Muppet version of him as a gift - you can see Bernie posing with "Bernie" in his autobiography, Where Did I Go Right?

...you know...since Miss Piggy often refers to her agent Bernie i wonder if that might be the Muppet version of Bernie that's her agent! Never thought about that til now.
