Thankful Heart
Kermit: Come on, everybody! Let's go spread some Christmas cheer for those who need it.
(Muppets cheer, music starts)
With a thankful heart and with endless joy for a growing family, every girl and boy will be nephew and niece to me.
(Nephew and niece to me)
Will bring love, hope and peace to me.
(Love, hope and peace to me)
Yes, and every night will end and every day will start
with Muppets: with a grateful prayer and a thankful heart.
Kermit: With an open smile and with open doors, I will bid you welcome, what is mine is yours with a glass raised to toast your health.
(With a glass raised to toast your health)
And a promise to share the wealth.
(Promise to share the wealth)
I will sail a friendly course, file a friendly chart
with Muppets: on a sea of love and a thankful heart.
Kermit: Life is like a journey, who knows when it ends.
Yes, and if you need to know the measure of a man, you simply count his friends.
Stop and look around you, the glory that you see
is born again each day, don't let it slip away, how precious life can be.
With a thankful heart that is wide awake, I do make this promise, every breath I take will be used now to sing your praise.
(Used now to sing your praise)
And I beg you to share my days
(Beg you to share my days)
with a loving guarantee that even if we part,
with Muppets: I will hold you close in a thankful heart.
Kermit: I will hold you close in a thankful heart.

Bless Us All
Robin: Life is full of sweet surprises, every day's a gift.
The sun comes up and I can feel it lift my spirit.
Fills me up with laughter, fills me up with song.
I look into the eyes of love and know that I belong.
Bless us all who gather here,
with Miss Piggy: the loving family I hold dear.
Kermit and Robin: No place on earth compares with home and every path will bring me back from where I roam.
Muppets: Bless us all that as we live, we always comfort and forgive.
Kermit and Robin: We have so much that we can share
Robin: with those in need we see around us everywhere.
Let us always
Muppets: love each other,
Robin: lead us to the light.
Let us hear the
Muppets: voice of reason
Robin: singing in the night.
Kermit: Let us run from anger
Miss Piggy: and catch us when we fall.
Robin: Teach us in our dreams and please, yes, please
Muppets: bless us one and all.
Robin: Bless us all with playful years, with noisy games and joyful tears.
Muppets: We reach for you and we stand tall
Kermit: and in our prayers and dreams, we ask you bless us all.
Robin: We reach for you and we stand tall and in our prayers and dreams, we ask you bless us all.

I Believe
Kermit: You know, what I've always loved about Christmas is that everyone comes together and becomes one big family.
Robin: Yeah. That's what I love about it, too.
Grover: Yes, especially when Santa comes on Christmas Eve.
Oscar: Ah, who cares?
Muppets: What?
Wembley: What do you mean, Oscar?
Red: Are you saying you don't believe in Santa?
Oscar: No, I'm not saying that! It's just that everyone talks about him all the time. Who cares about Santa and Christmas?
Big Bird: We do!
Gonzo: That's right!
Robin: Just think about it, Oscar. Where would we be if there wasn't a Santa?
Wembley: Yeah, think about what would happen if no on believed if we didn't.
Kermit: Besides, he represents what we are as Muppets...childhood, innocence, imagination, kindness and happiness. You don't have to believe if you don't want to, Oscar, but we believe in what he means to us and Christmas.
(Music starts)
What makes a miracle?
What makes a Christmas dream come true?
How can a man in red now change the world I thought I knew?
How can there be miracles if hearts are filled with doubt?
Next time, I leave my doubt behind and find what life's about.
I believe in a wondrous place he calls the imagination.
I believe in his childhood world of hope and celebration.
I believe in the miracle of love because
oh, yes, I believe in Santa Claus.
It's not easy feat on a city street to touch a weary heart,
but in my heart, the dream begins and the miracle will start!
Muppets: I believe in a wondrous place he calls the imagination.
I believe in his childhood world of hope and celebration.
I believe in the miracle of love because
oh, yes, I believe in Santa Claus.
It's snowflakes, angels, sleigh bells ringing,
lights that twinkle, children singing.
I believe in Santa Claus.

I Wish I Could be Santa Claus
Gonzo: I wish I could be Santa Claus for just one day.
I'd fill a bag with kindness and I'd give it all away.
I'd make the world a better place, I'd do that if I could,
I love the way I feel inside when I do something good.
Fozzie: I wish I could be Santa Claus, imagine that.
Although I could not fill his boots, I'd look great in his hat.
I'd love the milk and cookies and there's one more thing I'd do,
I'd try to teach the kids to be a little more like you.
Both: We know that love can bless the heart when tears begin to fall.
We know that love is the message of the season, the greatest gift
Fozzie: and yes, one size fits all.
Gonzo: I wish we could be Santa Claus, perhaps, we can.
The job's about the giving, not the suit and not the man.
Both: It's all about the caring and the part that we can play
Fozzie: in spreading joy
Gonzo: and peace on earth
Both: and love on Christmas Day.
Gonzo: I wish I could be Santa Claus.

The Christmas Wish
John Denver: I thought I heard you guys singing!
Kermit: Hey, it's John Denver!
(Muppets greet John)
Miss Piggy: Oh, Jonathan! Oh, it's so good to see vous!
John: It's always great to see you, Miss Piggy!
Merry Christmas, everyone!
Muppets: Merry Christmas, John!
Scooter: It's not Christmas until John comes along.
Big Bird: We've heard so much about you, Mr. Benver.
John: It's Denver.
Gobo: Are you here to spend the holidays with us?
John: Of course. I can always make time to spend with you guys.
Robin: This is what I love about Christmas, friends coming over and spending time together. Not only are we all friends, but we're one big family, too.
John: I couldn't agree more, Robin.
(Music starts)
Kermit: I don't know if you believe in Christmas
or if you have presents underneath the Christmas tree.
But if you believe in love, that will be more than enough for you to come and celebrate with me.
John: For I have held the precious gift that love brings
even though I never saw a Christmas star.
I know there is a light, I have felt it burn inside and I have seen it shining from afar.
Muppets and John: Christmas is the time to come together,
a time to put all differences aside.
Kermit: For the truth that binds us all together,
I would like to say a simple prayer
that at this special time, you will have true peace of mind and love to last throughout the coming years.
(Soft instrumental)
Kermit and John: And if you believe in love, that will be more than enough for peace to last throughout the coming years.
Muppets and John: And peace on earth will last throughout the year.

The Peace Carol
John: Since we're all together, why don't we sing some of our favorite songs at Christmas time?
(Muppets agree, Music Starts)
Emmet: The garment of life, be it tattered and torn,
the cloak of the soldier is weathered and worn.
What child is this that was poverty born?
The peace of Christmas Day.
Emmet and Scooter: The branch that bares the bright holly,
the dove that rests in yonder tree,
the light that shines for all to see the peace of Christmas Day.
Scooter: The hope that has slumbered for two thousand years,
a promise that silenced a thousand fears,
a faith that can hobble an ocean of tears.
The peace of Christmas Day.
Emmet, Scooter,
Ma Otter and Mokey: The branch that bares the bright holly,
the dove that rests in yonder tree,
the light that shines for all to see the peace of Christmas Day.
John: Add all the grief that people may bear,
total the strife and the trouble and care,
put them in columns and leave them right there,
the peace of Christmas Day.
John and the Muppets: The branch that bares the bright holly,
the dove that rests in yonder tree,
the light that shines for all to see the peace of Christmas Day.
Emmet, Scooter and John: The branch that bares the bright holly,
the dove that rests in yonder tree,
the light that shines for all to see
John: the peace of Christmas Day.

Silent Night
The first part is the German translation of the song
Muppets and John: Stille nacht, heilige nacht,
alles schlaft, einsam wacht.
Nur das traute hochheilige Paar,
holder knabe im lockigen Haar,
schlaf in himmlischer ruh.
Schlaf in himmlischer ruh.
John tells the story of how the song came to be known today.
Muppets and John: Silent night, holy night.
All is calm, all is bright.
Round yon virgin mother and child.
Holy infant so tender and mild.
Sleep in heavenly peace,
sleep in heavenly peace.

Keep Christmas with you
Kermit: Well, everybody, it's getting late. It's going to be time to go home soon.
Fozzie: Yeah, it is Christmas Eve after all.
John: Well, why don't we sing one more song before we go? Play it, Rowlf
(Music begins)
Kermit: When Christmas time is over and presents put away, don't be sad.
Robin: There'll be so much to treasure about this Christmas Day and the fun we've had.
Big Bird: So many happy feelings to celebrate with you and oh, the good times hurry by so fast.
John: But even when it's over, there's something you can do to make Christmas last.
Kermit: Keep Christmas with you all through the year.
Robin: When Christmas is over, you can keep it near.
Miss Piggy: Think of this Christmas Day
All 3: when Christmas is far away.
Rowlf: Keep Christmas with you all through the year.
Scooter: When Christmas is over, save some Christmas cheer.
Ernie and Bert: These precious moments, hold them very dear
John and Muppets: and keep Christmas with you all through the year.
Prairie Dawn: Christmas means the spirit of giving, peace and joy to you.
Gobo: The goodness of loving,
Wembley: the gladness of living,
Muppets and John: These are Christmas, too.
So keep Christmas with you all through the year.
When Christmas is over, save some Christmas cheer.
These precious moments, hold them very dear
Robin: and keep Christmas with you all through the year.
John and Muppets: Yes, keep Christmas with you all through the year!
John: Merry Christmas, everyone!
Muppets: Merry Christmas!
